AutoTranslation Global

**Play any modpack in your own language.** AutoTranslation Global is a client-side Minecraft translator mod. It automatically translates the English text of your mods and modpacks into the language you picked in Minecraft while you play: item names, tooltips, menus, FTB Quests and Patchouli books. No resource packs, no waiting for mod authors, no setup.

Auto-translate mods, FTB Quests and Patchouli books

Most mods ship in English only, and big modpacks have tens of thousands of strings. AutoTranslation translates them in the background and remembers the result, so each text is translated once and then works offline.

• **Works out of the box.** Keyless Google Translate is the default. Nothing to configure.
• **Better with AI.** Add a free Gemini key for context-aware translations. Groq, Mistral, OpenRouter, a local Ollama model and any OpenAI-compatible service work too.
• **Every mod, automatically.** Language files of mods that have none for your language, plus English text hard-coded into their screens. No mod list to maintain.
• **Quests and books.** FTB Quests (titles, descriptions, tasks, rewards), Patchouli guide books and, on 1.12.2, BetterQuesting.
• **Safe for your world.** Translation happens when text is drawn. Quest IDs, conditions, rewards, commands and progress are never changed. Colour codes and placeholders are kept intact.
• **Your word wins.** An editable glossary and personal corrections override every translation.
• **Never touches what you type.** Chat, signs, books and name fields are left alone.

Real output from a StoneBlock run (about 38,000 texts), game language Turkish, keyless Google Translate, no manual edits:

Machine translation is not perfect. A Gemini key gives better results, and corrections fix the rest.

Supported Minecraft versions

• **Forge:** 1.12.2, 1.16.5, 1.18.2, 1.19.2, 1.20.1
• **NeoForge:** 1.21.1, 26.1.2 (FTB Quests only on 26.1.2)
• Client-side only. It works on any server and is not needed on the server.
• **1.20.1 only:** also install Architectury API and Cloth Config. The other versions need no extra mods.

How to use

1. Put the jar for your Minecraft version in your mods/ folder.
2. Set **Options → Language** to the language you want, for example Deutsch, Español, Français or Türkçe.
3. Play. If the game language is English, nothing is translated.

Languages

The target is whatever language you pick in Minecraft. Turkish is the language the mod has been tuned and tested for, and it has a ready-made shared translation pack. Other languages use the same pipeline but are not verified yet, so reports are welcome.

Good to know

• The keyless Google endpoint has a low rate limit (around 20 requests a minute). Cached text keeps working.
• Mod text is sent to the translation service you use. Shared packs are download only; nothing from your game is uploaded.
• Fabric is not available yet.
