Shadered Compat Fix
Fixes Shadered’s rendering bugs with Immersive Engineering, Supplementaries and other mods
Quick answer
Which Shadered Compat Fix release should I use?
Shadered Compat Fix shadered_compat-1.20.1-1.0.0.jar targets 1.20.1 with Forge, NeoForge. The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both. 1 required mod needs a matching file.
Where it goes
Is Shadered Compat Fix required on the client, server, or both?
The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both.
The source does not explicitly classify this release as client-only or server-only.
What else does Shadered Compat Fix shadered_compat-1.20.1-1.0.0.jar need?
shadered_compat-1.20.1-1.0.0.jar. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Shadered, Sodium, GeckoLib first, but 1 required mod has no matching file for this setup. Do not mix loader builds to force a match. 2 come through another mod in the chain.
2 extra mods were pulled in by other dependencies. Indented rows show who needs each one. We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does Shadered Compat Fix add?
🛠️ Shadered Compat Fix
Shadered looks amazing until you add Immersive Engineering or Supplementaries.
Then skyboxes swallow entire blocks, skyblocks bleed through walls, and other mods’ machines turn black or glitchy.
This addon fixes all of that. Drop it in next to Shadered and everything renders the way it should. No config, no setup.
✅ What gets fixed
Skyboxes covering whole blocks
Illusorite ore showing its skybox over the entire block instead of just in the veins? Skyblocks visible through walls? Fixed.
Why it happened: mods like Immersive Engineering change how Minecraft stores depth information. Shadered didn’t account for it, so it lost track of what’s in front of what.
Shadered blocks disappearing at a distance 🆕
Skyblocks, Illusorite ore, Maxwell and other Shadered blocks used to vanish once you were more than 64 blocks away, just like chests do. Now they stay visible as far as your render distance goes.
Broken textures on other mods’ blocks
Machines and blocks from other mods turning black, garbled or showing the wrong texture. Fixed. (1.21.1 only, since the 1.20.1 version of Shadered never had this bug.)
Why it happened: Shadered changed a setting on whatever texture was in use, many times per frame, and that was often another mod’s texture.
Rendering glitches leaking into other mods
Shadered left graphics settings changed after drawing, so whatever rendered next could look wrong. Now everything is put back exactly how it was.
Under the hood
- Shadered no longer stops rendering for the rest of your session after a single error
- Fixed a render list that kept growing in memory while filter blocks were on screen (1.21.1)

❓ FAQ
Do I still need Shadered?
Yes, this is an addon. It fixes Shadered; it doesn’t replace it.
Will Shadered look different?
No. All of Shadered’s effects look exactly the same; they just stop breaking other mods.
Will keeping Shadered blocks visible far away lower my FPS?
Only if you have a lot of them far away. A normal build won’t notice it.
Can I put it in my modpack?
Absolutely, go for it.
Shadered updated and now my game crashes?
This addon hooks into Shadered’s code, so big Shadered updates can need a new version of this addon. Check back here for an update.
