Omni Speed Controller Fix
Prevents recursive rotation-network crashes around the Dreams n' Desires Omni Speed Controller without changing balance.
Quick answer
Which Omni Speed Controller Fix release should I use?
Omni Speed Controller Fix omni-speed-controller-fix-1.0.0.jar targets 1.21.1 with NeoForge. The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both. All 2 required mods have matching files.
Where it goes
Is Omni Speed Controller Fix required on the client, server, or both?
The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both.
The source does not explicitly classify this release as client-only or server-only.
What else does Omni Speed Controller Fix omni-speed-controller-fix-1.0.0.jar need?
omni-speed-controller-fix-1.0.0.jar. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Create, Create: Dreams n' Desires first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup.
We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does Omni Speed Controller Fix add?
Omni Speed Controller Fix
A focused bugfix addon for Create: Dreams n' Desires. Install it alongside the original mods if your setup encounters the Omni Speed Controller issue described below.
The problem
Connecting or rebuilding a rotation network around an Omni Speed Controller can trigger a StackOverflowError while ticking a block entity. The affected controller can then crash the server again when that network is loaded or recalculated.
Why it happens
An output connection can feed its speed back into the controller. The original ratio changes when that output replaces the input, so Create repeatedly propagates a new source without settling. The original calculation also divides by effective speed, which becomes zero under overstress.
Scope of the fix
- Keeps output feedback from replacing the controller's established input on adjacent shaft connections.
- Calculates the ratio from theoretical input speed and safely handles stopped or uninitialised controllers.
- Removes floating-point rounding around the requested output RPM so an otherwise stable network can settle.
Requested RPM, speed limits, stress settings, recipes and progression keep their original values. Non-Omni propagation, custom output ratios and nonadjacent connections retain their original results.
Compatibility
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- NeoForge 21.1.235 for Minecraft 1.21.1
- Create 6.0.10
- Create: Dreams n' Desires 2.3a-BETA
- Java 21
This release targets the original DnDesires 2.3a-BETA and Create 6.0.10 implementations. Use matching addon and required-mod versions on server and clients. It addresses rotation feedback; other Omni crashes, including unrelated moving-sublevel problems, are outside its verified scope. Future upstream versions require a new compatibility check.
From Steam & Steel
The addon originated in Steam & Steel SMP, our custom Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge server modpack. It is available independently of the full modpack.
Create and Dreams n' Desires are required; SteamSteelCore and the full Steam & Steel modpack are not. This replaces our earlier private Omni fix; install only one copy.

Release / Feedback
The fix grew out of crashes encountered by players on our Steam & Steel SMP server, within its specific modpack. The standalone release has been checked locally; gameplay validation of this public package and compatibility with other modpacks still need feedback.
If you encounter a crash, an error or unexpected behaviour, please leave a comment with your Minecraft, NeoForge, Create, Dreams n' Desires and addon versions, the crash report or relevant log excerpt, plus steps to reproduce the problem. We will investigate reported bugs and work on fixes.
Local checks reproduce the original recursive failure and verify the patched native methods across signed and fractional input speeds, overstress, stopped input and repeated network recalculation. These checks do not establish compatibility with every modpack.
