About this project
What does Infinity Start add?
✦ Infinity Start ✦
One screen. Every choice. Your whole journey decided before the first step.
Infinity Start replaces the scattered "pick a class / pick a difficulty / read three guide books" experience with a single, polished start screen. When a player joins a world for the first time, they choose the world difficulty, their race ("Choose your Sin") and their starting class, all in one place, with live stats, previews and themed visuals.
Originally built for the Infinity Legends modpack, but 100% data-driven: every difficulty, race and class lives in editable JSON files.
🌍 Difficulty
The host (or the first player, configurable) picks one of 5 difficulties on a curved holographic band at the top of the screen:
| Difficulty | Mob Health | Mob Damage | XP | Keep Inventory |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Civilian | 70% | 60% | ×0.8 | Allowed |
| Hero | 100% | 100% | ×1.0 | Allowed |
| Curse | 150% | 130% | ×1.25 | Allowed |
| Apocalipse | 225% | 175% | ×1.5 | Allowed |
| Just Die | 350% | 250% | ×2.0 | ❌ Forbidden |
Each difficulty can also:
- Set and lock the vanilla difficulty
- Give extra Luck to players who play without Keep Inventory
- Define how many primary powers a player can hold (with or without a Chimera Core)
- Grant permanent player attributes (shown in Apothic Attributes)
- Apply command rules for FTB Essentials teleports: cooldowns, warm-ups ("stand still before teleporting"), max homes, same-dimension-only and fully blocked commands
The Keep Inventory and Unique Powers toggles sit in a yin-yang wheel under the panel, ready to flip before confirming.
🧬 Choose your Sin (Races)
Pick from 19 races, each with:
- Its own lore, title and power (granted through the pack's superpower mods)
- Active and passive abilities listed right on the card
- Attribute changes (health, reach, speed…) with a live Character Status panel
- A full visual identity: panel colors, border, glow, particles, emblem and select sound
With Unique Powers on, each primary power can only belong to one player, and taken races are locked for everyone else.
⚔️ Choose your Class
15 starting classes: Arcanist, Geomancer, Tidecaller, Stormcaller, Bastion, Gladiator, Gunslinger, Assassin, Monk, Summoner, Gambler, Wretch, Dragon Tamer, Hunter and Paladin.
Each class has:
- Starting gear and attributes
- Passive skills
- A class skill on its own HUD slot, used with a key (G by default, rebindable)
💍 Ring of the Seven Curses (optional)
If Enigmatic Legacy is installed, players can choose to start with the Ring of the Seven Curses already equipped. Hover over the ring to see every blessing and curse before you commit.
🎒 Clean Start
No more inventory full of guide books and random items on the first join. Infinity Start cleans the first-join clutter, so players begin with only what their race and class give them.
📜 Your Journey
After choosing, a badge appears on the inventory screen. Click it to review your difficulty, race and class at any time.
Need a do-over? The Born Again item (given once, configurable) lets a player choose race and class again.
