TONI's Better Ocean Monuments

The ocean monument was the most boring dungeon in the game. Not anymore.
Better Monuments replaces every ocean monument of your world with a four tier sunken temple, built block by block by a generator: a different maze of rooms every time, loot worth the dive, and the three Elder Guardians waiting for you.

A plaza, four stepped tiers of 8x8, 6x6, 4x4 and 2x2 rooms, lit battlements and a spire on top. It appears exactly where the vanilla monument would: same deep oceans, same spacing.

Eight gates lead into a maze of doors and of shafts between the tiers that is never the same twice. Behind them: coral gardens, sunken archives, crypts guarded by drowned, treasure rooms, thermal vents, sponge rooms and pillared halls. Dead ends are where the loot is.

At the heart of the temple, a sealed vault with a core of gold blocks and four chests with the best loot of the monument: diamonds, gold, enchanted books and, with some luck, a heart of the sea or a trident.

Two Elder Guardians hold the great halls of the second tier. The third one waits at the top, in the throne room under the spire, with two more vault chests.

Most monuments are intact. Some are ruins: collapsed walls, mossy bricks and seagrass growing through the floors. In frozen oceans they are covered in ice.

FAQ

Does it work with other world generation mods?
Yes, as long as they do not replace the ocean monument too.

Can I remove the mod later?
The blocks stay. The game will warn about the unknown structure in those chunks, and guardians stop spawning in monuments built by the mod.

Can I use it in my modpack?
Yes.
