About this project

What does Ymondf add?

Ymondf is a narrative adventure mod for Minecraft NeoForge. It does not add a new dimension, a new equipment tier, or a new progression system in the usual sense. Instead, it adds a dossier that does not belong to this world, fragments of the same dossier scattered across the world, and a set of materials and gear built around them.

The player finds a dossier during normal play. What is written inside is about the player themselves: their name, the number of days they have spent in the world, their current coordinates. It is not a letter addressed to the player. It is a record. Every time the player verifies an entry, the dossier grows by one page. Verification has a cost. Something is always in the way.

The fragments scattered across the world are pieces of the same dossier after it was torn apart. They do not explain anything. They are simply there. Whoever finds them may read them, or may not.

The mod adds three new wood types. The wood can only be crafted into planks, and the planks into everything else. Around these materials sits a light equipment set.

This mod is the first sephirah of a ten-part ARG structure, corresponding to Yesod. It stands on its own as a narrative adventure mod. It does not depend on other mods, and it does not require the player to know that the ten-part structure exists.

This is an early preview. The prologue and part of the first act are implemented; the main storyline is not yet complete. What is currently in the build: the dossier, the fragments, the sleep trigger, and three new wood types. Story, combat, and cutscenes are still in development.

Requires NeoForge 1.21.1 or above. Depends on SQDCLib, a narrative library by the same author, already released and available separately. SQDCLib provides four layers: state, quests, dialogue, and cutscenes. It is developed alongside Ymondf.

The mod contains a puzzle that points to the author's website. This is not an advertisement. It is part of the narrative. The website page contains no mod promotion and no social media links.

In development. Feedback welcome.
