Dappled Bears introduces wild brown bears and their adorable cubs to Minecraft's beautiful Dappled Forest biome, making the autumn forests feel more alive, immersive, and full of wildlife.

Discover natural bear dens, observe unique animal behaviours, raise baby bears, and experience a new addition to Minecraft's wildlife!

🌲 Natural Habitat

Brown bears spawn naturally and exclusively in the Dappled Forest biome.

Watch them roam the woodland, explore their surroundings, and interact with the environment. Adult bears also protect their cubs from potential threats, making encounters with bear families particularly interesting!

🍯 Bee Nest Sniffing

Brown bears are naturally curious about honey!

When they discover nearby bee nests, bears may approach and sniff them, adding another touch of natural wildlife behaviour to the forest.

🪨 Natural Bear Dens

Explore the Dappled Forest to discover naturally generated bear dens!

The mod features three different den variants, each designed to blend naturally into the surrounding landscape.

Dens are constructed from natural materials, including dirt, coarse dirt, podzol, rooted dirt, stone, andesite, and moss blocks.

Every den has a different appearance, making exploration more interesting.

🌙 Nighttime Sleeping

Bears have a 75% chance of sleeping at night.

When a den is within 20 blocks, bears attempt to sleep inside. Only one adult bear can occupy a den at a time, while additional adults sleep outside.

Cubs rest near their mothers, and bears can also sleep naturally without a nearby den.

🐾 Cubs and Breeding

Create your own bear family!

Players can breed adult brown bears using honeycomb, producing adorable baby bears.

Cubs stay close to their mothers, who fiercely protect them from danger.

At night, baby bears rest near their mothers, including when their mothers take shelter inside bear dens.

🍖 Loot Drops

Adult brown bears drop 2–4 Leather and 2–5 Raw Beef when killed.

Baby bears do not drop these items.
