About this project
What does NotEars add?
NotEars adds animated 3D ears, horns, tails and wings to players. They're built from real 3D shapes instead of flat textures, and they move: ears twitch and flatten when you sneak, tails swing when you turn around, and wings stay folded on your back until you start flying or falling.
Press K to open the wardrobe. You can change the key in Controls.
Cosmetics
- Ears: cat, fox, wolf, bunny, bear, demon horns, antennae, axolotl gills
- Tails: cat, fox, wolf, dragon, demon, kitsune (nine tails)
- Wings: angel, phoenix, void, dragon, demon, bat, butterfly, fairy, mech
Wings work with the elytra. While you wear them, the elytra is hidden and you fly on your wings instead.
Colors
Each slot gets its own color:
- the natural colors of the style, or one of 14 solid colors
- 12 animated colors: Rainbow, Pastel, Neon, Candy, Sunset, Fire, Toxic, Aurora, Ocean, Frost, Galaxy and Ender
- Custom: mix up to 4 colors with the color picker or a hex code, then pick how they move (Static, Wave, Cycle, Pulse or Sparkle) and how fast
Glowing parts like horn tips, phoenix feathers and kitsune tail tips can be turned on or off.
Wardrobe
- live preview of your character, drag to rotate and scroll to zoom
- a 3D preview card for every style
- size and position sliders, so the ears fit your skin
- a Random button for when you can't decide
- everything is saved when you close it
Multiplayer
For other players to see your cosmetics, the mod has to be on the server and in their game too. On a server without it, you still see your own. Singleplayer and LAN work right away.
Players without NotEars can still join a server that has it. They just won't see any cosmetics.
FAQ
Which versions? Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge. No other mods are needed.
Does it work with armor? Yes. Ears sit a bit higher with a helmet on, and tails and wings move out so they don't clip through armor.
Can I use it in my modpack? Yes, go ahead.
