About this project
What does Simple Pleasures: Friendship add?
Simple Pleasures: Friendship
Give Minecraft villagers a little more personality.
Simple Pleasures: Friendship expands vanilla villager interactions with a friendship system built around gifts, personal requests, conversations, and meaningful relationships.
Every villager has their own personality and preferences. Get to know your neighbors, discover what they enjoy, help them with requests, and gradually build friendships that change how they treat you.
Whether you're settling into a quiet village or building a thriving trading community, Friendship gives you more reasons to care about the people living there.
Get to Know Your Villagers
Build friendships with individual villagers through everyday interactions.
- Give gifts to discover what each villager loves, likes, dislikes, or hates.
- Complete requests for items related to their professions.
- Trade regularly to gradually earn their friendship.
- Unlock better prices as your relationships grow.
Each villager has their own preferences, influenced by their profession. A farmer might love certain crops, while a shepherd might appreciate a particular color of wool.
Some preferences cover groups of similar items, making gifting intuitive without removing the fun of discovering someone's favorites.
Villagers with Personality
Not every villager is the same!
Villagers can be cheerful, grumpy, thoughtful, shy, gossipy, or playful. Their personalities influence how they greet you, tell jokes, discuss village life, and respond to your actions.
As friendship grows, their dialogue changes. Acquaintances gradually become familiar faces, and close friends become noticeably warmer toward you.
Villagers also have their own thoughts about their professions, from farmers complaining about troublesome harvests to librarians enjoying a quiet moment with their books.
Requests and Rewards
Villagers have profession-specific requests for items they need.
Help a farmer gather crops, bring supplies to a toolsmith, or catch fish for a fisherman. Completing requests is a great way to strengthen friendships.
An optional on-screen tracker helps you keep track of your requests, showing what you need, how many items you currently have, and how much time remains.
A Village That Reacts to You
Villagers respond to gifts, trades, and completed requests with dialogue that reflects their personalities.
They might greet you warmly, share a little gossip, tell a joke, or become impatient if you keep bothering them.
With the optional Thief mod integration, villagers can also react to witnessed crimes and talk about suspicious things happening around the village.
Made for Cozy Minecraft
Simple Pleasures: Friendship is designed to fit naturally into Minecraft without replacing vanilla villagers or introducing complicated relationship mechanics.
There are no daily conversations you must remember to have. Friendships grow through the things you're already doing, whether that's trading, sharing gifts, or helping your neighbors.
Turn an ordinary Minecraft village into a place full of familiar faces.
