What does Better Pets add?

Better Pets

Owning a dog, cat, parrot or horse, done right. /pets lists every pet you own and where it is, even in unloaded chunks. Find it with a glow and an on-screen arrow, call it to you, rename it, give it to a friend. Shift-right-click a pet for a full menu.

The Better Pets menu: pet list, live 3D wolf, health bar, feed slots and action buttons

  • Pet menu: live 3D view, health bar, stats, rename box, click-to-feed and every action below
  • /pets: all your pets with health, distance, direction and buttons
  • /pets find: the pet glows and an arrow above your hotbar points the way
  • /pets call: teleports a pet to you
  • /pets name: rename without a name tag, with & colors or MiniMessage gradients
  • /pets give: hand a pet to another player
  • Your own hits don't hurt your pets (sneak to hit anyway)
  • Leads on your pets never snap: the pet gets pulled along
  • Death alert with the exact coordinates

The /pets list from 5.8 km away, with each pet's distance and when it was last seen

/pets find: a sitting wolf glows in the distance and the action bar shows 23 m

Install

Install it on the server. Players who also have it on their client get the custom menu; everyone else gets a chest menu with the same buttons.

Requires Mycel: install it alongside this mod. Minecraft 26.1, 26.2 and 26.3 on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, Java 25. On Fabric you also need Fabric API.
