About this project
What does Kryzenth: Myths & Meteors add?
Kryzenth
Meteors bring a new metal to your world. Hunt it, forge gear beyond netherite, raid frozen dens and dark towers, and face the beasts of Norse legend: Níðhöggr, Ymir and Fenrir.
Kryzenth is a large adventure and progression mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge). It adds five new metals, eight armor sets (most with full 3D models and animated textures), two bosses and a mini-boss, two dungeons, a rare island biome, rideable and tameable creatures, a rune crafting system and dozens of unique weapons with special abilities.
Progression at a glance
- Kryzenth falls from the sky inside meteors.
- Moon Silver is mined in snowy peaks and icy caves.
- Eclipsium is fused from Kryzenth and Moon Silver at the Fusion Bench.
- Ancient Copper is looted from the Dark Tower.
- Celestium falls in golden meteors, but only for players who have defeated Kryzthar.
- Níðhöggr Scales come from the ice dragon itself.
Meteors and Kryzenth
At night, meteors streak across the sky and crash near mountains, leaving a crater of scorched rock with Kryzenth Ore at the bottom. Nearby players get a warning with rough coordinates. The meteor is fully 3D: a spinning rock with lava cracks, swirling plasma and a fiery trail, and it hits with a flash, a shockwave and a column of light.
- Kryzenth tools are stronger than netherite and each has a power: the sword calls lightning and dashes forward, the pickaxe and shovel give Haste, the hoe grows crops in a 7x7 area.
- Kryzenth Lunar tools: combine a Kryzenth tool with Moon Silver at the anvil for +35% damage, speed and durability.
- Kryzenth armor (Abyssal Knight): an animated 3D armor with a watching eye, crystal horns and tentacles. Night Vision, Fire Resistance, Jump Boost, Speed, no fall damage, plus Resistance II and Strength I with the full set. Crafted at the smithing table with a Forge Template found in the Pale Ruins.
- Winged Kryzenth Chestplate: adds free flight and gliding to the full set, with articulated crystal wings.
- Kryzenth Bow: tentacle limbs and a blinking eye. Extra damage and a chance to strike the target with lightning.
Moon Silver and the Rune System
Moon Silver is a Norse-styled metal between diamond and netherite. It is found in snowy mountains and in caves beneath icy biomes. The full set grants Child of the Moon: Night Vision and Strength II at night.
- Claymore, Lunar Spear, tools, bow and shield with runes that light up one after another.
- Nine Norse runes (Fehu, Uruz, Raidho, Isa, Sowilo, Tiwaz, Berkana, Laguz, Algiz) can be set into Moon Silver gear at the Rune Altar, up to three per piece. Each rune adds a passive bonus, an active ability (sneak + right-click) and a set bonus when you stack four or more of the same rune.
Eclipsium: the strongest metal
Fuse Kryzenth and Moon Silver at the animated Fusion Bench to create Eclipsium.
- Eclipsium armor: the strongest set in the mod. Extra health and attack damage on every piece, and the full set grants Child of the Celestial: Strength III, Resistance III, Regeneration II, Speed II, immunities, free flight and gliding with no durability cost and giant wings with blinking green eyes.
- Eclipse Reflection returns 35% of melee damage to the attacker.
- Eclipse Rebirth saves you from death once every five minutes.
- Eclipse Glaive: a 3D glaive with extra reach that tears open an Eclipse Rift every third hit. Right-click creates a Singularity that pulls enemies in and implodes.
- Eclipse Bow: fires three arrows at once.
Ancient Copper
Steampunk gear looted from the Dark Tower: tools with spinning gears, pressure gauges and steam, a 3D armor with goggles, gears and a boiler, and the Semi-Automatic Crossbow, which loads a magazine of up to six arrows and fires them one per click.
Celestium: the holy metal
After you defeat Kryzthar, golden meteors begin to fall. Celestium is the holy metal, deadly against undead.
- Holy tools with abilities: Celestial Judgement (golden lightning), Radiant Slash, Divine Sight (reveals ores), Consecrated Ground and Harvest Blessing.
- Celestial Staff: calls a storm of golden lightning bolts.
- Celestial Bow: creates arrows of light and needs no ammo.
- Celestial Shield: heals you and smites the undead when you block.
- Holy Armor: a pearl-and-gold 3D armor with a floating, spinning halo. Its powers are Holy Aura, Divine Grace (escape death), Purity and Feather Fall gliding.
- Winged Celestium Chestplate: angel wings with glowing golden feathers, free flight and gliding with no durability cost.
Bosses
Kryzthar, the Eye of the Abyss
At the top of the Dark Tower a meteor crashes onto the Abyss Altar and Kryzthar rises from it: a giant floating stone cube with a huge acid-green eye, claws, tentacles and orbiting crystals. It crushes, fires an eye beam and toxic orbs, and summons armored Abyss Servants at half health. It drops the Abyssal Eye Scythe and the Abyssal Heart.
Ymir, Father of Frost (mini-boss)
At the heart of the Frost Den, the Seal of Ymir awakens a giant of cracked ice with a runed axe. He has axe swings, a spin attack, ice spike eruptions, thrown ice boulders and a runic roar, and he calls Finirs to his side. He drops runes and Ymir's Axe, which raises rows of ice spikes.
Níðhöggr, the Ice Dragon
Once Ymir has fallen, something wakes up. While you walk through snowy biomes, the sky can tear open into a giant vortex and Níðhöggr emerges: a 600-health ice dragon with three phases.
- Phase 1 is fought on the ground: bites, tail swipes, stomps with ice spike lines and a frost breath that follows you.
- Phase 2 takes to the skies: diving swoops, ice boulder volleys and crushing dives.
- Phase 3 calls the vortex back above the battle, turns crimson and mixes ground and air attacks.
- The dragon stays on its target until one of you falls. If it kills you, it roars and leaves through the vortex.
- It has its own synthesized sounds and 16 animations.
Rewards:
- Níðhöggr Egg: hatch it on packed or blue ice to raise your own baby dragon. It grows up into a saddled flying mount that breathes frost.
- Níðhöggr Scale Armor: free flight and gliding with large dragon wings, Frost Nova at low health, and freezing walk on water.
- Tail Spear: extra reach, and right-click fires a freezing Frost Blast.
- Ice Heart: makes your dragon fully grown instantly.
Dungeons and Structures
- Dark Tower: a rare four-floor deepslate tower full of monsters and Abyssal Chests, with the Kryzthar arena on top.
- Frost Den: a frozen dungeon that generates like a woodland mansion. You descend a spiral shaft into 9 to 13 random rooms (crypts, frozen lakes, crystal caverns, kennels, a rune shrine) that lead to Ymir's arena. It has its own Frost Chests and Rune Reliquaries.
- Pale Ruins: temples, arches and pillar rings on the Pale Island, with the exclusive Pale Chest and the Kryzenth Forge Template.
- Miasmor Nest: a spawner nest marked by tall columns of green light.
The Pale Island
A very rare biome that only appears as an island in the open ocean. It has white grass and leaves, white trees with a crimson heart, glowing Pale Blooms and ash-sand beaches. It comes with a full wood set (logs, stripped logs, planks, stairs, slabs, fences, doors, trapdoors, boats) and ancient pale bricks with stairs, slabs and walls.
Creatures
- Fenrir: a rare giant wolf of the snowy biomes, still bound by the broken chain Gleipnir. It bites, pounces from a distance and lets out a howl that weakens you and calls a wolf pack. It drops the Fenrir Fang and, very rarely, the Amulet of Fenrir, which summons Sköll (the sun wolf, whose bite burns) and Hati (the moon wolf, whose bite freezes) to fight for you for 1:30.
- Fenrir's Bite: a fast blade forged from two fangs. Every hit makes the target bleed, and right-click unleashes the Howl of the Wolf to empower you and your tamed wolves.
- Finir: ice werewolves that hunt in packs inside the Frost Den. Their pelt makes an armor that lets you transform into a Finir yourself for 90 seconds, with a pounce and a howl.
- Lirial: a rideable guardian of the Pale Island with flowered antlers and a huge plumed tail. It comes in three color variants and can be bred.
- Lunareth: a rare guardian of the icy mountains. Tame it with Moon Silver and ride it; right-click while riding to shoot a freezing beam.
- Miasmor: a toxic one-eyed flying monster that shoots green fireballs.
- Ancient Knights: zombified soldiers in steampunk armor that roam the world at night, some armed with the semi-automatic crossbow.
