About this project

What does NewEraFlora add?

NewEraFlora

A new era for plants in Minecraft, from the sunlit Overworld to the Nether and the End.

NewEraFlora adds over 330 new plants, 194 crops, wild bushes, whole new families of trees and fluids, and gives every dimension its own living flora. Plants are not just decoration: many of them react to you, glow, sting, heal, ignite, teleport, or pull you around.

🌿 Overworld flora (190 plants)

Real-world species sorted by climate, each with its own texture and shape:

  • Hot and arid: agaves, cacti, aloes, living stones, desert roses, euphorbias
  • Temperate: foxglove, meadowsweet, snowdrops, ferns, wild garlic, cattails
  • Cold: lingonberry, bilberry, cloudberry, crowberry, sphagnum, horsetail
  • Polar: reindeer lichen, Iceland moss, saxifrages, polar willow, arctic mosses
  • Tropical: monstera, orchids, pitcher plants, staghorn ferns, giant taro, papyrus

Plants come in different heights, with some growing taller than one block, and dense plants slow you down as you walk through them.

🔥 Nether flora (70 plants)

Harsher, hotter and more dangerous:

  • Plants that set you on fire, fire needles at passing players, or hide pit traps
  • Lava-lit blooms, glowing fungi and hanging vines that drip blood and lava
  • Lava flora: algae growing under lava, lava grasses and lily pads floating on the lava surface
  • Eight Nether turf blocks that grow in patches together with their plants

🌌 End flora (71 plants)

  • Plants that teleport you short distances when you step on them
  • Thorn-throwing plants, levitation blooms, gravity plants, and light-eating ferns that darken the area around them
  • Glowing crystal and chorus flora, plus eight **End turf** blocks
  • Ender Water: a new fluid that forms small ponds in the End, with its own algae and lilies

🌳 End trees

Eight new End tree species, each with a full wooden set: logs, wood, stripped variants, planks, stairs, slabs, fences, gates, doors, trapdoors, buttons and pressure plates. Trees have unusual, varied shapes. Saplings grow into small, large or huge trees of the same shape (1×1, 2×2 and 3×3).

🥕 Crops and farming

  • 194 crops: 146 for the Overworld, 24 for the Nether and 24 for the End. Each crop has produce, seeds (or planting stock for bulbs, tubers and canes) and four growth stages
  • Tall crops like corn
  • Wild bushes in every dimension that drop seeds or produce, and can be replanted
  • Common Nether Grass and Ender Grass that give random seeds and produce, like wheat seeds from vanilla grass
  • Turf can be tilled with a hoe into Nether Farmland and Ender Farmland, which need no water. Trampled farmland turns back into plain netherrack or end stone for good
  • Right-click harvesting for ripe crops (toggle in the config)

🏞 Water, lava and shore plants

Algae columns, seagrass and pond weeds for lakes and oceans, shoreline reeds and cattails, lotuses and lily pads, fallen leaves floating on water, glowing lichens and long hanging vines.

🏗 World generation

Farm structures and an End bridge generate in the world. Farm generation can be turned off in the in-game settings screen.

⚙ Configuration

An in-game config screen is available from the mod list. It lets you toggle right-click harvesting and farm generation.
