About this project

What does Sophisticated Core Legacy add?

Unofficial port. This is not P3pp3rF1y's work, so please don't report issues with it to the original author.

Sophisticated Core Legacy is the shared library behind Sophisticated Storage Legacy and Sophisticated Backpacks Legacy, ports of P3pp3rF1y's Sophisticated mods to Minecraft 1.12.2. It adds no items of its own. Install it together with either mod or both.

Original project and license

This is a port of Sophisticated Core by P3pp3rF1y (source on GitHub). The original was open source under the GNU GPL v3 until February 2025, when its 1.20.x and 1.21.x versions switched to All Rights Reserved; its 1.18.x branch is still GPL v3 today. This port uses only GPL v3 code:

The GPL lets anyone port and change GPL code, as long as the result is also GPL, credits the author and ships its source. This port is GPL v3, with its full source on GitHub and on the Files tab, and it uses nothing from any version released under All Rights Reserved. How it differs from the original is listed under Differences from the original below.

What it provides

  • The storage screen: inventory and upgrade slots, upgrade tabs, sorting, and a settings screen with memory, no-sort and item display slots.
  • Slots that hold far more than 64 when a storage has stack upgrades, with stacks that come back out at their proper size.
  • Every shared upgrade: pickup, filter, magnet, feeding, compacting, void, smelting and auto-smelting, crafting, jukebox, tank, battery, pump, XP pump and stack upgrades, with advanced versions where the original has them.
  • A "Sort Storage" key (middle mouse by default) and a Shift tooltip that previews a storage's contents.
  • JEI support: dragging items into filter and memory slots, recipe transfer into the crafting upgrade, and no overlap with the upgrade tabs.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.12.2, Forge 14.23.5.2847 or newer (Cleanroom works too).
  • Optional: JEI or HEI.

Credits and license

Sophisticated Core is by P3pp3rF1y. This port is based on the original's 1.18.x branch at commit 42394d4, released under the GNU GPL v3, and is itself licensed under the GNU GPL v3. Textures and translations come from the original. The source code is the -sources file on the Files tab.
