HAPPY GUY — COMPLETE ENTITY OVERVIEW
1. THE LEGEND OF HAPPY GUY
Deep within a remote taiga village, the legend of Happy Guy had descended like a nightmare.
This mysterious creature appeared from the darkness, wearing an unsettling, permanently twisted grin. Iron golems could not stop him, and towering walls offered little protection. His presence transformed peaceful villages into places of constant dread.
Villagers eventually discovered that conventional weapons were useless against him. No ordinary sword, arrow, or explosion could permanently destroy the creature.
However, Barnaby, an elderly village librarian, refused to surrender.
After months of researching ancient archives, he discovered an extraordinary secret: Happy Guy was connected to the deepest fears of players and villagers. His power was not merely physical. Fear itself was the source of his supernatural strength.
According to an ancient parchment, the only possible way to destroy him was through an archaic ceremony known as the Ritual of Happiness.
The Ritual of Happiness
The villagers constructed an enormous prison using obsidian and crying obsidian. They prepared soul sand flooring and a specialized water mechanism.
As night approached, Barnaby gathered everyone in the village square and declared:
"When we gaze into its eyes, we shall not fear. When it draws near, we shall not tremble. Our fear is its lifeblood; our courage shall be its end."
When Happy Guy finally emerged from the mist, the villagers refused to run.
Instead, they sang their oldest cheerful songs, raised their torches, and faced the creature together.
For the first time, Happy Guy encountered something he could not easily overcome: a complete absence of fear.
His movements slowed. His strength weakened. The villagers managed to push him into the prepared obsidian prison.
Barnaby then recited the final incantation, summoning lightning upon the structure.
Happy Guy's terrifying grin transformed into an expression of agony. His body cracked and disappeared in an enormous burst of white light.
The village was finally free.
The legend teaches that courage and unity can overcome even the most seemingly invincible monster.
Important distinction: The Ritual of Happiness is part of Happy Guy's lore. The supplied mod source does not currently implement this ritual as an actual gameplay weakness.
2. GENERAL ENTITY INFORMATION

3. COMPLETE COMBAT STATISTICS
| Attribute | Current value |
|---|---|
| Maximum health | 160 HP |
| Health in hearts | 80 hearts |
| Attack Damage attribute | 14 |
| Actual direct attack | 28 HP |
| Actual attack in hearts | 14 hearts |
| Movement Speed attribute | 0.45 |
| Maximum movement attribute | 0.585 |
| Armor | 12 |
| Knockback Resistance | 100% |
| Follow Range | 75 blocks |
| Step Height | 1.25 blocks |
| Entity Height | 3.25 blocks |
| Entity Width | 1.15 blocks |
Important combat clarification: The registered attack attribute is 14, but the implemented attack directly removes 28 health points from the target. Therefore, the actual attack deals 14 hearts of health damage.
Creative-mode players are unaffected.
Happy Guy also applies a powerful knock-away effect when his attack successfully damages a target.
4. IMMORTALITY AND DAMAGE RESISTANCE
Happy Guy is designed to be effectively immortal under normal gameplay conditions.
His immortality is maintained through several independent defensive mechanisms.
Damage protection
Environmental damage is ignored, including fire, lava, falling, suffocation, and void-related damage sources.
Fire immunity is enabled.
Fall damage is completely disabled.
Normal knockback cannot move him.
Entity collisions cannot push him.
Fatal damage from ordinary living attackers is prevented from triggering a normal death.
Attempts to remove him through ordinary destructive entity-removal methods are intercepted.
Regeneration
Happy Guy regenerates health automatically.
Calm state: 2.5 HP every 10 ticks.
Angry state: 1.25 HP every 10 ticks.
Minecraft runs at approximately 20 ticks per second.
This means he regenerates:
Calm: 5 HP per second.
Angry: 2.5 HP per second.
If his health is reduced, he gradually restores it without requiring food or potions.
Even if an external mechanism attempts to set his health to zero, his recovery system restores his health to its maximum value.
Maximum health remains 160 HP.
5. BEHAVIOR SYSTEM
Happy Guy has two primary behavioral states.
A. Calm / Stalking Mode
When Happy Guy is not angry, he behaves differently from an ordinary hostile mob.
He can:
Locate nearby players.
Silently follow them.
Observe players from a distance.
Wander around players rather than standing completely still.
Navigate around obstacles.
Follow players through water.
Protect a player from hostile mobs.
His 75-block tracking radius is not a maximum pursuit distance.
When a player wears the Happy Guy Head, he ignores that player during calm target selection and pauses an existing hunt against that player.
B. Angry / Rage Mode
When a player or another living attacker damages Happy Guy, he becomes angry.
His transformation begins immediately.
During this state:
His appearance progressively transforms into the angry texture.
He plays transformation and tantrum sounds.
He remembers his target.
He enters an aggressive pursuit state.
He uses advanced movement and obstacle-solving behavior.
He attacks when within approximately 3.15 blocks and has line of sight.
Rage preparation
The rage preparation lasts 140 ticks, equivalent to 7 seconds.
During this period, Happy Guy remains focused on his target while performing his tantrum behavior.
After these seven seconds, the aggressive pursuit begins.
The separate scream phase is currently disabled in the source code, although scream sounds can occur during the preparation period.
6. SPEED AND PURSUIT
Happy Guy has a custom acceleration system.
His registered movement-speed attribute starts at 0.45 and has a maximum of 0.585.
The speed calculation uses a gradual increase, with a configured gain of 0.5 movement-speed units per second until the maximum is reached.
The entity also uses additional movement assistance, including:
Intelligent pathfinding.
Direct movement when pathfinding fails.
Jumping toward elevated targets.
Stair and ledge climbing.
Obstacle detection.
Obstacle destruction during aggressive pursuit.
Water and lava traversal.
Recovery from becoming stuck.
Long-distance relocation when targets are extremely far away.
The 75-block tracking radius does not restrict his ability to pursue a target.
7. TERRAIN DESTRUCTION
Happy Guy can destroy obstacles when his aggressive pursuit becomes blocked.
His system attempts normal navigation first.
If he remains stuck, he can:
Recalculate his route.
Abandon an ineffective path.
Move directly toward his target.
Destroy blocks obstructing his direct line of sight.
Clear a narrow passage up to four blocks high.
Relocate to a safe position beyond an obstruction as a last resort.
His block-destruction system does not indiscriminately destroy everything around him. It checks for a real obstruction between himself and his target.
Even blocks with negative destruction speed, including bedrock, can be removed by this custom obstruction-breaking mechanism.
8. PROTECTIVE INSTINCT
One of Happy Guy's unusual characteristics is that he can protect players.
When a hostile mob attacks his tracked player, Happy Guy can identify that threat and prioritize attacking it.
This protective behavior can happen even while Happy Guy is calm.
He therefore isn't simply an aggressive monster. He has a defensive behavioral system that makes him capable of protecting the very player he follows.
9. SPECIAL DEFENSIVE FEATURES
Happy Guy has several additional characteristics:
Cannot be pushed by ordinary entity collisions.
Has complete knockback resistance.
Does not suffer fall damage.
Is immune to fire.
Does not take environmental damage.
Can swim and navigate through fluids.
Can recover from falling into the void.
Can restore his health after attempted lethal damage.
Does not naturally despawn.
Remains persistent across world saves.
Can remember his chosen target.
Can resume tracking after the target reconnects.
10. NATURAL SPAWNING
The supplied source includes a custom natural spawning system.
The system performs a spawning check every 600 game ticks (30 seconds).
It allows only one globally tracked natural Happy Guy instance at a time.
Natural spawning conditions include:
A nearby eligible survival/adventure player.
A valid spawning location.
At least 10 blocks of distance from the player.
No more than 75 blocks of total distance.
Four blocks of clear space above the spawning floor.
Spawn probabilities
| Environment | Spawn probability per check |
|---|---|
| Snowy surface biome | 20% |
| Snowy cave | 40% |
| Ordinary surface biome | 5% |
| Ordinary cave | 25% |
Creative and spectator players are excluded from natural spawning checks.
11. SOUNDS AND ATMOSPHERE
Happy Guy has a dedicated sound system containing:
Ambient sounds.
Transformation sounds.
Attack sounds.
Hurt sounds.
Reconstitution sounds.
Heavy footsteps.
Snarling.
Tantrum sounds.
Screams.
A dedicated chase soundtrack.
His footsteps change in volume and pitch depending on whether he is calm or angry.
The chase soundtrack and other audio effects help establish the atmosphere of an approaching supernatural threat.
12. SPECIAL ITEMS
The mod includes:
Happy Guy Spawn Egg
Allows players to summon Happy Guy.
Happy Guy Head
A wearable head item.
Wearing the head makes the player invisible to Happy Guy's ordinary calm tracking selection and pauses an existing hunt against that player.
The head therefore serves as an important defensive item.
13. ADMINISTRATIVE COMMANDS
The mod includes custom commands for managing Happy Guy.
/happy_guy— Command root./happy_guy spawn— Summons Happy Guy./happy_guy rage <target>— Forces Happy Guy to become angry toward a living target./happy_guy kill— Uses the mod's administrative removal mechanism to remove existing Happy Guy entities.
The administrative kill command is different from ordinary combat damage and is intentionally provided for world administration.
14. FINAL THREAT ASSESSMENT
Happy Guy combines exceptional durability, regeneration, advanced pursuit, terrain traversal, target memory, and a powerful direct attack.
His most dangerous characteristic is not simply his damage output.
It is his persistence.
Walls, ordinary weapons, water, distance, and most environmental hazards cannot reliably stop him.
He can observe a player without immediately attacking, protect that player from other threats, and become an extremely persistent hunter when provoked.
The legend of the Ritual of Happiness provides a deeper explanation of the creature's supernatural nature: fear gives him power, while courage represents the possibility of overcoming him.
HAPPY GUY — AN IMMORTAL ENTITY. A RELENTLESS HUNTER. A LEGEND THAT REFUSES TO DISAPPEAR.
