Deep Field

Build a rocket. Leave the planet. Go further than anyone has gone.

Craft a launch kit, set it down on open ground and watch a full rocket and launch tower assemble. Climb aboard with up to two friends, start the countdown and ride it off the pad through fire, smoke and flying dust.

Update 4 is out

The biggest update yet:

• 8 new worlds in 3 galaxies: Proxima b, TRAPPIST-1e, Janssen, Nomad, Torrent and Umbra in Centaurus A, and Myriad and Horizon in M87, beside a black hole of 6.5 billion suns
• 7 new bosses and 24 new creatures, and a new main story that ends at the edge of M87's black hole
• Ships that break: engine fires, hull breaches, fuel leaks and emergency landings, with parts, a Welding Torch and a Maintenance Gantry to fix them
• A whole industry: fluids, conveyor belts, robotic arms, a production chain and power, ending in a nuclear reactor that can melt down
• Alien farming: 14 crops from 14 worlds, hydroponics, harvesters, food and medicine
• Bases that build themselves: blueprints, holograms and a Constructor drone
• Four difficulty modes, contracts from four organisations, and teams

34 Worlds in Six Galaxies

Visit the Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars, ten moons from Phobos to Triton, Ceres, Pluto and the asteroid belt, and the floating islands above Saturn and Neptune; then other stars and other galaxies: the Large Magellanic Cloud, Andromeda, the Whirlpool, Centaurus A and M87. Kepler Station waits in Earth orbit.

Every world has its own gravity, weather and sky. Search crashed probes and old survey stations, and meet the creatures that live out there.

The Voyage

Ride a fully rendered space film past the real Earth, the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn, out of the Milky Way and across the void to TON 618, an ultramassive black hole drawn with real general relativity... and find out what happens after you cross its horizon. Or choose 3C 273, a blazing quasar. Every voyage brings something home.

Survive Out There

Space suits for heat, cold and radiation, oxygen tanks, and oxygen generators with airlocks for sealed bases. Life support, temperature and radiation can each be switched on or off in the config.

Star Magic

Gather stardust from falling stars, fill a Celestial Altar with starlight and perform rituals with Star Pedestals. Infuse your gear with the powers of the worlds you've visited, cast star spells with the Astrolabe, and forge Starsteel tools and armour.

Bosses and Endgame

Wake the Ring Wyrm in its lair among Saturn's islands. Awaken the Pocket Universe to enter the Young World and face the Firstborn at the Cradle of Stars. Earn the Horizon Blade, the Genesis Mantle and the Quasar Core. Then take on Update 4's seven new bosses, from the Flarewing on Proxima b to the last fight at the edge of M87's black hole.

Gadgets

A two-seat rover, a jetpack, a grappling hook and a survey scanner that reveals nearby ores.

Field Guide

An in-game guidebook with a roadmap, quests, a bestiary and everything above.
