The familiar foundation stays: configurable reactors, fuel rods, control rods, turbines, coils, the heat exchanger and cyanite fuel recycling. The existing reprocessor becomes the Industrial Processor, adding coolant production. The battery is an added multiblock; the cooling circuit and machine interfaces are reworked systems.
⚛️ Your reactor your design
🧱 Start with direct power
Build the casing, arrange your fuel rods, add solid moderators and supply fuel. The reactor generates FE directly.
- 🎛️ Control rods let you tune operation.
- 🧩 Your layout and moderator choices affect performance, from metal blocks to Blue Ice.
- ⚡ A practical starting point before building a full steam plant.
💧 Move to liquid cooling
Place reactor coolant manifolds directly beside the fuel rods. Feed a supported cold coolant through an inlet and extract its heated form through an outlet.
- 🔗 More contact faces improve heat transfer.
- 🛢️ Coolant stays contained inside the manifolds, with visible fluid inside the machine.
- 🧱 Solid blocks left in spare spaces do not add moderator bonuses in liquid mode.
- 🪣 Fill reactor, turbine and heat-exchanger fluid ports by hand with buckets, without opening a screen. A Heated Coolant Bucket remembers which coolant it came from; steam is a gas and only moves through tanks and pipes.
- 💧 Fluid outlets automatically feed compatible pipes or tanks connected directly to them. The Industrial Processor does the same on faces configured for fluid output.
- 🛠️ Recover stored cold coolant through the reactor inlet or stored hot coolant and water through their respective heat exchanger inlets.
- 📦 Reactor item outlets automatically send cyanite to a connected inventory. Fuel inlets can recover stored fuel. The Industrial Processor sends finished items from its configured item output faces.
- ♨️ The reactor produces steam or heated coolant; the turbine produces the electricity.
💡 Liquid cooling can generate more FE per unit of fuel than direct generation with solid moderators. Build a properly supplied plant with a turbine and, when needed, a heat exchanger. Its output depends on usable fuel, layout, control rods and circulation.

🔁 Choose your coolant and build your loop
| Coolant entering the reactor | Heated output | Next step | Availability |

| 🟣 Liquid Obsidian | Heated Liquid Obsidian | Cool it in the heat exchanger and return Liquid Obsidian to the reactor. | Made in the Industrial Processor |
| 🧊 Frozen Obsidian | Heated Frozen Obsidian | The strongest bundled coolant: 40 steam mB per ten hot mB. It glows brighter than fuel, cold or hot. | Made in the Industrial Processor |
| ❄️ Cryo Fuel | Heated Cryo Fuel | Cool it in the heat exchanger and return the Cryo Fuel. | Ad Astra installed |
| 🧪 Liquid sodium | Superheated liquid sodium | Cool it in the heat exchanger and return the sodium. | Mekanism installed |
💧 The simple steam route
💧 Water → ⚛️ Reactor → ♨️ Steam → 🌀 Turbine → ⚡ FE
🟣 A reusable coolant circuit
⚛️ Reactor → ♨️ Heated Liquid Obsidian → 🔥 Heat Exchanger → 🟣 Liquid Obsidian → ⚛️ Reactor
The exchanger's separate water circuit supplies your turbine:
💧 Water → 🔥 Heat Exchanger → ♨️ Steam → 🌀 Turbine → ⚡ FE
♨️ Heated coolant carries heat. Steam is what the turbine uses to generate FE. Optional coolant entries appear only when their source mod is installed.
Do the math before you build. Each mB of fuel gives 12,500 kJ, and with water each kJ makes one steam mB. Multiply by the structure percentage, by your coolant's steam per batch and by your coil's FE per steam mB, and you have your FE/t.
Fuel consumption creates a fixed heat budget. Full outputs, missing coolant and full passive buffers discard unused production rather than saving fuel. Each solid moderator cools by its own conductivity, so every material has its own output. Optional balanced outputs on reactors, exchangers and turbines share flow between accepting destinations, and maintenance extraction recovers preserved input stock.
Every coolant circuit needs enough water, effective heat exchange and clear outputs. Empty both sides of a coolant circuit before changing its fluid pair.
🖥️ Reactor controls and statistics
Track fuel and waste, coolant reserves, fuel burn and current versus potential conversion in the reactor interface. Two heat bars separate generated heat from heat eligible for conversion. Structural efficiency stays tied to the layout; reducing power does not repair a missing manifold. Losses distinguish geometry, missing coolant, blocked output and the fluid process.
A full hot output or missing cold coolant stops conversion for that moment, and the heat of that tick is lost while fuel keeps burning. Keep coolant flowing in and out to use every kJ.

⚙️ Industrial Processor
The original Cyanite Reprocessor has been upgraded and renamed Industrial Processor. It keeps its cyanite-to-blutonium fuel recycling and now also manufactures Liquid Obsidian and Frozen Obsidian. The same single-block machine handles every process, with separate item and fluid outputs.

♻️ Fuel recycling and coolant production
Eject cyanite from your reactor and recycle it into blutonium, or supply obsidian to manufacture cold coolant. Configure item, fluid and energy routes for automation.
- ♻️ 2 cyanite ingots + water + FE → 1 blutonium ingot, preserving the existing recipe and costs.
- 🟣 1 obsidian block + 100 mB water + FE → 100 mB Liquid Obsidian.
- 🧊 1 blue ice + 200 mB Liquid Obsidian + FE → 100 mB Frozen Obsidian.
- 📦 Blutonium leaves through the item output; coolants leave through the fluid output. Only the output needed by the active recipe can block that process.
- 📚 JEI, EMI and REI show every recipe, including the input fluid, energy, time and correct item or fluid result. The in-game guide lists them in production order.
With the default configuration, the obsidian recipe takes 200 ticks (10 seconds at 20 TPS) and uses 200 FE. The coolant is manufactured cold; the reactor supplies the heat.
Liquid Obsidian circulates as a reusable coolant. It heats up into Heated Liquid Obsidian in the reactor, then cools back into Liquid Obsidian in the heat exchanger. It no longer becomes lava, and ordinary lava cannot supply this coolant circuit.
🧊 Frozen Obsidian
Snatches heat in an instant, but obsidian's stubbornness makes it slow to cool again. That's why it boils more steam and needs more water.
Cool Liquid Obsidian with blue ice to make the strongest bundled coolant: 40 steam mB for every ten hot mB, turning from vivid cyan to glowing red in the reactor. It shines brighter than the fuel, cold or hot, lighting up your manifolds. In the world, Liquid Obsidian, Frozen Obsidian and the mod's heated coolant use water-like movement and currents. Frozen Obsidian freezes entities like powder snow, and heated coolant burns them like lava.
🔎 Explore coolant properties and conversions through the in-game guide, machine statistics and JEI/EMI/REI. Use that information to tune your own plant.
🖥️ Processor interface
The input fluid tank sits beside the energy bar on the left. Item slots occupy the center, and the separate product tank on the right stores the coolant being made.

🔥 Heat exchangers where the loops meet
The primary circuit cools your reactor's hot coolant back into its reusable form. For the obsidian loop, Heated Liquid Obsidian becomes Liquid Obsidian. The separate secondary circuit turns water into steam.
- 🔁 Return cold coolant to the reactor for a closed loop.
- 💧 Supply water to the secondary circuit.
- ♨️ Extract steam and send it to a turbine through tanks or pipes; steam is a gas and cannot be carried in a bucket.
- 🧩 Place condenser and evaporator channels against each other for better heat transfer. Water/steam channels hold four times as much as coolant channels.
Layout matters: each directly touching pair of channels processes 2,000 hot mB/t, straight air gaps reduce that speed; obstructions and longer gaps stop a link. Recipe yield stays fixed. The statistics panel helps you compare what the structure could process with what it is processing now.

🖥️ Heat exchanger controls and statistics
Compare current and potential coolant conversion, water consumption and steam production. Tank levels, processed heat, useful steam heat and operating messages identify input, output and channel-layout limits. Each batch checks both circuits together.

🛡️ Keep your outputs moving
The statistics show exactly how much hot coolant and how much water each exchanger can handle per tick. A batch only runs when hot coolant, water and room in both outputs are all available; a full steam or cold-coolant output pauses the exchanger without losing any fluid.
🚦 Full input tanks are useful reserves. Clear the blocking output and the exchanger resumes immediately.
🌀 Turn steam into power
Build your turbine, choose its rotor and coils, and tune the selected steam flow.
Right-click a shaft, blade or bearing while holding rotor blades to fill the available arms ring by ring, then continue to the next level. You can start once the base outline, both aligned bearings and the continuous shaft are in place, before closing the walls or roof. Arm lengths follow your turbine's interior, including horizontal and off-center rotors. Sneak with an empty hand to remove a blade, or sneak with blades to place them manually. Breaking a shaft with the correct tool collects its attached blades into your inventory, with overflow dropped beside the shaft.
- 🎛️ Adjust flow to suit your steam supply and turbine design; the turbine only draws the steam its blades and coils can actually use.
- 🪙 Better coils mean more FE per steam mB and more steam per block, and different coil materials can share one turbine.
- 📊 Monitor rotor speed, blade and coil capacity and gross generation.
- ⚖️ Optional balanced outputs share the returned water equally between outlet ports, for example to feed two exchangers.
- 🔁 Return condensed water to the exchanger for a closed water circuit.
- 🚰 Keep the existing excess-condensate discard options when using fresh water.

🖥️ Turbine controls and statistics
Set the steam flow, coil state and condensate handling. Coil material sets the base energy per handled steam mB, from 2.75 FE with iron to 5.25 FE with gold, 7.25 FE with diamond and 9.25 FE with ludicrite, and each coil block handles a fixed steam flow (500, 875, 1,250 and 1,750 mB/t). Coil materials can be mixed in the same turbine: capacities add up and FE per mB is their average. Tune the flow to hold 900–1,000 or 1,800–1,900 RPM for 100% efficiency. The rotor can reach 2,200 RPM, with declining efficiency above 1,900 RPM. Steam above the intake limit stays in the inlet tank. Inserting the reactor's control rods further reduces steam supply and lets the turbine settle at a lower speed. Statistics show the steam intake limit, blade and coil capacity, FE per steam mB, current and potential conversion and gross FE generation.
Turbines show a subtle, gently moving white haze behind their windows according to stored steam and actual operating flow. Steam remains visible when it is converted as quickly as it arrives; switched-off turbines show only their stored reserve. Occasional condensation droplets fall from any block with free space below after a few seconds of rotating operation. Rotor speed is limited to 2,200 RPM. Assembled reactor, turbine, heat-exchanger and battery ports show connections on the outer and inner faces, with closed chassis sides that fit neatly beside glass.

🔋 A battery that grows with your plant
Build a multiblock battery with casing, a terminal, energy ports and interior cells. Each cell adds storage and transfer capacity.
- ➕ Upper slot: charge an item using the battery's energy.
- ➖ Lower slot: transfer energy from an item or a charged battery cell into the battery.
- 📊 Statistics: see a charge bar with the fill percentage, the cell count, stored energy, total capacity and current and maximum transfer rates.
- 🛡️ Equipped gear: FE-compatible armor and offhand items shown beside the interface charge automatically while the terminal is open.
- 🔌 Shared transfer budget: ports, item slots and equipped gear use the battery's available output capacity.

🖥️ Battery terminal
Check stored energy, input and output rates, and installed cell capacity. The terminal also brings together the charging slots and equipped-gear controls.

🔴 Automate with stored charge
Add an optional Battery Redstone Sensor to the battery wall. Choose a charge percentage, signal at or above or at or below that threshold, or detect a completely full or empty battery. Each sensor keeps its own settings and sends its signal through the outer face.
Connect the output to a turbine's redstone port in Activity / Level mode to start and stop generation as the battery fills and drains. The sensor's recipe and operating instructions are available in the in-game guide.
⛏️ Too much power, nowhere to spend it?
Your reactor is humming, the batteries are full and the FE keeps coming. Put it to work: Dimensional Flux Miner, our other mod, turns huge amounts of FE into a steady stream of resources. Feed it your surplus and watch your power plant pay for itself.
🖥️ Consistent interfaces across your plant
Redesigned screens bring resources and controls together. Each machine shows its own operating information, so you can check a bottleneck where it occurs.
Potential values assume the conditions shown in the statistics panel. Compare them with current rates to see where supply, controls or circulation are holding the machine back.
The settings tab switches each screen between a light and a dark background, for one machine or for all machines at once. Only this setting changes their colors; other dark-mode tools leave these screens untouched. Redstone sensors follow the appearance of their own reactor, turbine or battery.
🔊 Hear your power plant come to life
Machine audio is a new addition in this rework. Your reactor, heat exchanger and turbine now have their own original operating sounds:
- ⚛️ Reactor: a steady industrial hum with coolant-circulation texture.
- 🔥 Heat exchanger: deep boiling and bubbling as it operates.
- 🌀 Turbine: distinct blade passes with a restrained steam background, changing with rotor speed as it accelerates and slows down.
The sounds are positional and fade with distance, giving your plant an audible presence as you move around it.
Set the volume for each individual multiblock in its Settings window, or mute it completely. Turning down one reactor leaves your other reactors, heat exchangers and turbines unchanged. These are your personal listening settings; they do not change another player's volume. Sharing a light/dark appearance across machines never shares their sound settings.

❓ FAQ
Can I import my original BiggerReactors machines?
This fork is designed for new worlds. It does not migrate worlds or machines from the original BiggerReactors.
Do I need Mekanism or Ad Astra?
No. They add optional coolant choices. Water and Liquid Obsidian are included.
How do I make Liquid Obsidian now?
Use the Industrial Processor: 1 obsidian block + 100 mB water + FE → 100 mB Liquid Obsidian. The reactor heats that coolant; the exchanger cools it back. Lava is not part of this loop.
How do I make Frozen Obsidian? Use the Industrial Processor: 1 blue ice + 200 mB Liquid Obsidian + FE → 100 mB Frozen Obsidian. It needs more water in the exchanger, but returns 40 steam mB for every ten hot mB.
How much FE will my plant make? Fuel mB/t × 12,500 × structure % gives the steam (or hot coolant) per tick; the exchanger multiplies hot coolant by its recipe; the turbine multiplies handled steam by the coils’ base FE per mB and the efficiency at the current RPM. The in-game guide and statistics show every number.
Will my old lava and obsidian coolant loop keep working?
Affected reactors and heat exchangers report an invalid fluid and stop. Empty both affected tanks, then refill with a supported coolant. Stored lava is not automatically converted into Heated Liquid Obsidian.
Can I put heated coolant into the turbine?
Use steam in the turbine. Send heated coolant to the heat exchanger to generate that steam.
Can coolant choice replace good circulation?
No. Water supply, tank availability, channel layout and extraction still matter.
Why is actual production below potential?
Check the operating message and the assumptions shown in the statistics panel. Potential assumes ideal conditions for that machine.
⚙️ Configure your modpack
Open Mods → BiggerReactors-Rework → Config to search and edit the mod's local settings without installing a configuration library or scripting mod. Set battery capacity and input/output per cell, tune machine parameters, define fuel yields for registered items or tags, and disable uranium generation in new terrain. Existing ore is preserved. Restart the game after changing machine or world-generation rules; gameplay settings are locked while a world is open.
Server owners and pack authors can also use optional KubeJS events to override configuration and define reactor fuels, moderators, turbine coils and fluid transitions. Server rules take priority for connected players, and script overrides do not overwrite their local files. The base mod works without KubeJS.
Every option, data format and script call is described in the customization guide.
🏆 Mark your progress
Follow a native advancement tree as you craft the guide, assemble machines, generate energy, work with liquid cooling and recycle cyanite. These milestones offer recognition without XP, loot or other rewards, and work without extra mods. A hidden discovery awaits the less cautious engineer.
Keep clear of rotating turbine blades: their swept area causes damage that increases with RPM, including while the rotor coasts down. Stop the rotor before entering; armor and the game's normal immunities still apply.
