Install MCEF (Minecraft Chromium Embedded Framework) first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup.

About this project

What does Block Cinema add?

Block Cinema puts TVs in Minecraft that play YouTube, Twitch, your own Jellyfin server and video links. Watch alone or together: everyone near a TV sees the same moment.

Features

  • TV block: right-click to pick what to watch. TVs side by side join into one seamless screen, up to 16x9 blocks.
  • YouTube and Twitch through their official embedded players.
  • Jellyfin: log in to your own server with Quick Connect (no password typed in Minecraft), browse your libraries, resume where you left off. Friends logged in to the same server watch along with their own login.
  • Video links: any video file or .m3u8 stream.
  • Play/pause, time bar, skip, per-TV volume and fullscreen, in a dark media-player menu.
  • Screens on walls, floors and ceilings (turn the picture with one click), and Diagonal TVs for \ and / screens.
  • A TV Remote to open a TV's menu from across the room, and its own creative tab.
  • Sound fades with distance.
  • Multiplayer sync, server settings for every service, and controls that only the starter and operators can use if you want.

Only what's needed

TVs show these services and nothing else: there is no address bar, no web browsing and no pop-ups. Servers can turn each service off and limit video links to sites they trust.

Requirements

  • NeoForge 1.21.1, on client and server.
  • MCEF on the client (not needed on the server). On first start MCEF downloads Chromium for your system from its own download server; TVs work once that's done.

Privacy

The TV only connects to the service you pick (YouTube, Twitch, your Jellyfin server or your link), plus MCEF's first-start download. Your Jellyfin login stays on your computer and is never sent to the Minecraft server or other players.

Block Cinema uses YouTube API Services; by using its YouTube features you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. See the Google Privacy Policy, Block Cinema's privacy policy and terms.

Not supported

Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and other DRM services can't be played: they need a licensed, certified browser.

Block Cinema isn't affiliated with YouTube, Twitch or Jellyfin; their names are trademarks of their owners.
