A standalone Forge boss encounter. Install the matching mod file on both client and server; no other content mod or boss API is required. Choose the exact Minecraft version in the Files tab. Each port is a separate Beta build, not a universal jar.

Java requirements: Minecraft 1.20.1–1.20.4 uses Java 17; 1.20.6 and the listed 1.21 releases use Java 21; 26.x uses Java 25. Forge has no release for 1.20.5 or 1.21.2, so no builds are supplied for those versions.

The original 1.20.1 build has gameplay test records. New ports have passed compilation, 13 pure-logic tests and archive/resource/bytecode checks only. Client visuals, dedicated servers, save upgrades and multiplayer have not been retested on these ports. Back up worlds before trying a Beta. Gallery screenshots are from the original 1.20.1 build.

Fight a living eclipse

Three enormous broken rings surround a floating dark core. Dodge six telegraphed attacks: corona sweeps, star volleys, falling rings, crossing ring blades, solar dives and eclipse retraction. Attack the descending seal nodes when they unfold; destroying each node weakens its related attacks. Break all three seals to expose the core, then punish its landing windows. Combat does not destroy terrain.

Summon it

Craft an Eclipse Throne using 4 obsidian, 4 iron ingots and 1 ender pearl. Craft an Eclipse Eye using 1 nether star, 4 amethyst shards and 4 blaze powder. Place the throne and right-click it with the eye. There is no time, sky or dimension restriction; a safe, loaded space for the core must be available nearby. Failed summons do not consume the eye.

Claim the Dark Sigil

Victory drops one shared Dark Sigil for the party. Hold right-click to charge a ring blade, consuming glowstone dust on a successful shot. The wide ring can hit up to five different creatures. Sneak while firing to use a smaller single-target ring. The visible rim deals damage, solid walls stop the projectile, and both modes share a cooldown. By default, it does not damage players or tamed pets.

Configuration

Server settings control boss and node health, multiplayer scaling, attack damage and recovery, encounter limits, retreat timing, and sigil cost, cooldown and PvP. Client settings adjust cosmetic effects and combat hints. Item tooltips are brief; hold Shift for details.

Credits and scope

Code, procedural models and sounds were developed with AI assistance. Two item textures (Eclipse Eye and Dark Sigil) use AI-generated artwork adapted into 16px assets. Screenshots show this mod running in Minecraft. This initial 0.1.0 release is distributed under the MIT license; configuration values may change during balancing.
