About this project
What does Cinematic menu add?
Cinematic Menu turns your title screen into a living 3D landscape, with animated buttons, a responsive menu card, and smooth camera turns between locations.
Open settings, browse your worlds, or head to multiplayer while the landscape remains part of the experience.
Features
- Live 3D backgrounds using Minecraft block models and textures.
- Animated menu cards and buttons, including a card that tilts with your cursor.
- Quick cinematic transitions with the next interface appearing during the camera turn.
- Six background sets with ten viewpoints each, including mountain landscapes, a fantasy village, an urban environment, the Nether, and the End.
- A background library with previews, viewpoint controls, and random or fixed backgrounds at startup.
- Custom world import from a Java world folder or ZIP archive.
- Background continuity across settings and world creation tabs.
- Motion controls for transition timing, idle animation, card tilt, and reduced motion.
Add your own background
Open Backgrounds → Add your world, select a world folder containing level.dat or a ZIP containing one world, then choose a dimension and scene center.
Prepare the scene, explore its viewpoints, and select Add and select. Your original save remains unchanged. Prepared backgrounds are cached locally for future launches.
Older Anvil worlds, including 1.8 and 1.12.2, and palette-based worlds from 1.13 through 1.21.1 are supported as import sources. This does not change the Minecraft version required to run the mod.
Requirements and compatibility
- Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.1
- Fabric Loader
- Fabric API for 1.21.1
- Java 21
- Client-side installation
Active resource packs supply block models and textures. The menu uses its own lighting and scene shaders. Iris and Sodium are optional and have been tested alongside the mod; Iris shader packs are not applied to menu backgrounds.
The title screen does not start a playable world or integrated server. Geometry is reused between viewpoints, and custom scene complexity is bounded. Performance varies with hardware, resource packs, and the selected landscape.

SophieBuilds — The Indigo Valley
Hello SophieBuilds,
I'm preparing a free Fabric 1.21.1 mod called Cinematic Menu for CurseForge.
It renders scenic title-screen backgrounds and short camera turns between menu
pages. I would like to feature The Indigo Valley.
The mod would include an extracted, prepared block-geometry scene and ten camera
viewpoints, not your full playable save. Players would see your landscape in the
title screen, settings and world creation screens. I would also like to use
direct screenshots of those screens on the project page. CurseForge may display
advertising and offers an author rewards program.
May I distribute this prepared scene inside the mod and allow the mod to be
included in modpacks? May I use the screenshots for the project's page? I would
credit “The Indigo Valley — SophieBuilds” and link to your original project in
the page and packaged notices. Your work would not be relicensed as MIT.
Please let me know the exact permission terms and any additional contributors
or credit requirements. Thank you.
