About this project
What does Mousseline's Transformations add?
Mousseline’s Transformations
Eat a power-up, become something else.
Mousseline’s Transformations adds seven edible power-ups to Minecraft, inspired by classic platformer power-ups. Each one turns you into a different form for several minutes. Each form has its own body, passives, weaknesses, abilities on keybinds and screen effects.
You don’t just get stronger: you play differently. A Titan crushes forests, a Micro glides over rivers, a Dwarf sees ores through stone, and a Netherborn walks across lava.
Requires NeoForge 26.1.2.
✦ The Forms
🍄 Titan — Titan Mushroom
Grow five times taller, with a huge health pool and heavy armor.
- You break blocks in a wide area as you mine.
- You can throw boulders that explode on impact.
- When you land from a jump, the ground shakes and nearby enemies are thrown back.
Being a giant has a cost: you get hungry fast, your tools wear out quicker and boats can’t carry you. Perfect for clearing land or ending a fight in one stomp.
⚙️ Might — Iron Apple
Your body turns to living metal.
- Stronger, tougher and faster.
- You hardly take knockback and iron golems treat you as one of their own.
- Your Shoulder Charge goes straight through glass and leaves.
The catch: metal doesn’t swim, so you sink in water.
✨ Micro — Pixie Shroom
Shrink to a tiny size.
- Very fast, and fall damage no longer hurts you.
- Hold jump to charge a jump that sends you way up high, then glide back down.
- You can run on the surface of water for a few seconds and dash on a key.
The catch: you only have 2 hearts. Explore like never before, but don’t get hit.
🌶️ Rage — Rage Pepper
Every hit you take or deal fills your rage.
- As it builds, you grow bigger, tougher, faster and stronger.
- A rage bar above your hunger bar shows how close you are to losing control.
- Hit the ground hard to release it as a slam.
And when you’re nearly dead… well, you’ll see. 😈
🔥 Netherborn — Phoenix Fruit
Become a creature of fire.
- Immune to fire and lava, and much stronger in the Nether.
- Walk on lava, which hardens into obsidian under your feet.
- You can even cross water for a few seconds, boiling it into obsidian.
Water and rain burn you, though.
You get the Emberbrand, a burning sword that sets enemies on fire. With it, you can:
- send Fire Waves that tear up the ground;
- unfold Phoenix Wings to fly;
- unleash a devastating Nova.
❄️ Frostborn — Frostheart Fruit
Become one with the Eternal Frost.
- Walk on water, which freezes under your feet, and skate on ice and snow.
- You can even cross lava for a short time before your ice melts.
You get the Leviathan Axe, which freezes enemies solid in blocks of ice. Your abilities:
- Frost Wave;
- throwable Iceballs;
- an Ice Shield that cracks as it absorbs hits;
- a Blizzard that covers the land in snow, puts out fires and freezes lava.
Rumor says the axe changes when you start chaining kills…
🍺 Dwarf — Dwarf IPA
Small, sturdy and born to dig. Underground you get:
- night vision;
- faster mining;
- a chance of double ore drops;
- immunity to the Darkness effect.
Use Ore Sense to see glowing ores through the stone around you.
✦ Getting the Power-Ups
Power-ups aren’t simply crafted: you have to find, grow and brew them.
- 🌺 Flame and Frost flowers grow wild in the Nether and in frozen biomes.
- They drop seeds that you plant on soul soil or ice.
- The crops give fruits that you craft into the power-up.
- 🍄 Micro mushrooms hide in dark, shaded places.
- Their spores only grow in the dark.
- 🌶️ Jalapeño bushes grow in jungles and savannas.
- 🍺 Brewing stand:
- turn wheat into Beer, then into the Dwarf IPA;
- brew an Antidote to end a form early.
- 🏛️ Explore: some power-up ingredients turn up in chests in:
- ruined portals and igloos;
- mineshafts and dungeons.
- The Titan Mushroom is rarely found in End cities.
Every power-up also has a Lasting version that lasts longer.
✦ Rules of Transformation
- A form lasts several minutes, and you get warned before it ends.
- One form at a time. To switch, drink an Antidote first.
- When a form ends on its own, your body needs a minute to recover before it can take another power-up. The Antidote skips that wait.
- Hold Shift on a power-up to see what it does.
✦ Feel & Visuals
- Skins: each form changes how your character looks, in first and third person.
- Smooth changes in size when you grow or shrink.
- Screen effects:
- a metal frame for the Might;
- a warm glow for the Netherborn;
- frost creeping over the screen during a Blizzard.
- Animated textures: the Emberbrand is always burning, and the power-up fruits flicker with flames or snow.
- Temporary terrain: blocks changed by abilities (lava-made obsidian, ice and the like) turn back to normal after a while, so your world isn’t damaged for good.
- Magic fire from abilities never spreads, so it can’t burn down your base.
✦ Advancements
There is a full set of advancements to unlock, from your first transformation to the strongest moves of each form. Can you get them all?
Made with love. Bug reports and ideas are welcome!
