About this project

What does Automation Checklist add?

Automation Checklist

Keep track of everything you've automated, so you never lose track of your factory again.

Automation Checklist adds a simple in-game checklist of every item in your game. Open it, click the items you've already automated, and watch your progress grow. It's a perfect companion for modpack playthroughs, "automate every item" challenges and long-running survival worlds.

Features

  • Full item checklist: every item from Minecraft and all your installed mods, in one scrollable grid.
  • One-click tracking: left-click an item to mark it as automated. Marked items get a green highlight and a check mark.
  • Quick-mark from any inventory: hover an item in your inventory or a chest and press G to flip its status without opening the checklist.
  • Progress counter: see how many items you've automated out of the total.
  • Filters: show everything, only automated items, only missing items, or blacklisted items.
  • Blacklist: right-click items that can't be automated (creative-only blocks, spawn eggs and so on). They're hidden from the list and don't count towards your progress.
  • Powerful search:
    • iron finds items by name or id
    • @minecraft or @create lists items from one mod
    • $planks or $logs lists items by item tag
    • combine them: @minecraft $planks
  • Saved per world: every singleplayer world and server keeps its own progress, so different playthroughs don't mix.

How to use

Key Action
K Open the checklist (rebindable in Controls)
G (while hovering an item in a container) Mark or unmark that item as automated
Left-click an item Mark or unmark it as automated
Right-click an item Add or remove it from the blacklist
Scroll wheel Scroll the list

Your data is stored in config/automationchecklist/ as simple JSON files, so it's easy to back up or move between machines.

Compatibility

  • Works with any mod that adds items. They show up automatically.
  • Client-side only, so it's safe to add to existing worlds and servers.
  • Requires Forge. Check the Files tab for the Minecraft versions currently supported.

FAQ

Does it work on servers? Yes. It only runs on your client, so you can use it on any server, and the server doesn't need it.

Can I use it in a modpack? Yes. Feel free to include it in any modpack.

Will my progress carry over between worlds? Each world and server has its own checklist. The blacklist is shared across all of them.
