How this project differs from the original
This is a derivative work, not the original mod and not an official Team Resourceful release.
- Platform: the original mod is built for NeoForge and Fabric; this project is a Forge port. The original's NeoForge/Fabric platform code is not included.
- Scope: the shared library API is kept, while the platform-specific layer was reimplemented for Forge: registry integration, channel-based networking, menu-with-content transport, fluid types, recipe ingredient serializers and resource-pack handling.
- Content: this is still a library only. No gameplay content was added or removed — the set of library features matches the original.
- Testing: additional in-game GameTest coverage was written for the Forge port.
- Maintenance: the port is maintained by Fitals. Please report port-specific issues to this project's issue tracker, not to the original authors.
- Affiliation: this project is not affiliated with or endorsed by Team Resourceful.
What's inside
- Registries — lightweight wrappers for registering items, blocks, fluids and other content, including child registries and holder-based entries.
- Networking — a channel-based network API with codec-driven packets, so mods can define clientbound and serverbound messages without boilerplate.
- Menus with content — container menus that carry serialized data from the server to the client, with a convenient menu provider and factory.
- Fluids — a fluid registry built on fluid properties, plus ready-to-use flowing/still fluid classes, liquid blocks and bucket items.
- Recipe ingredients — codec-based custom ingredients that work in recipes and serialize both to JSON and over the network.
- Client utilities — rendering helpers, scissor and pose stacks, custom screens and widgets, block highlight support and system information collection.
- Data and utilities — codec-backed saved data, global storage directories, weighted collections, NBT readers and validators, and more.
For players
This is a library mod. It does not add gameplay content on its own — install it when another mod requires it.
For mod developers.
The API mirrors the original library as closely as the platform allows. If you are porting a mod to Forge, you can usually keep your existing Resourceful Lib calls and only adjust the platform-specific entry points.
