About this project
What does Alchemy 2048 add?
Alchemy 2048
Alchemy 2048 adds a single-block transmuter that uses sliding 2048 mechanics to combine raw resources into higher-tier items. It runs on Forge Energy, supports custom datapacks and KubeJS recipes, and handles inventory input automatically.
Core Mechanics
1. Transmutation Grid
- 4x4 Puzzle Board: Slide matching materials together using
W-A-S-Dinside the machine menu. When two tiles of the same tier collide, they merge into the next tier. - Inventory Sourcing: When you open the machine, it scans your inventory. If you carry at least 2 units of a valid starter item (such as Cobblestone or Dirt), that progression tree unlocks automatically.
- Cost per Slide: Each slide consumes 1 starter item from your inventory to spawn a new base tile onto an empty slot.
- Extraction: Claim all items across the board or claim only the highest-tier items created so far. If the board fills up with no valid moves left, the session ends with a configurable loss penalty (
halfrefund orvoid).
2. Energy Consumption
50,000 FE Internal Buffer: Accepts Forge Energy from standard power cables on any side.
Tier-Scaled Compression: Base directional slides consume 20 FE. Merging high-tier items adds extra energy draw per merge:
Tier 2 (Stone): +20 FE
Tier 4 (Raw Iron): +150 FE
Tier 7 (Diamond): +4,096 FE
Tier 8 (Ancient Debris): +16,384 FE
Power Lock: If the buffer holds less power than a slide costs, the machine halts movement without taking starter items or breaking the board.
3. Progression Trees & Chance Modifiers
- Data-Driven Recipes: Evolution paths are configured through Datapack JSON or KubeJS using native 1.21.1
ItemStackcodecs. Recipes preserve Data Components on outputs (enchantments, potion types, custom durability). - Configurable Fusions: Each recipe tree supports custom multipliers:
crit_chance: Percentage chance for a merge to double or triple its output yield.skip_tier_chance: Chance to bypass a tier on merge.joker_tile_chance: Chance to spawn a wildcard tile that merges with any adjacent item.
Multiplayer & Protection
- Player Mutex: Locks the machine to one player UUID per session to stop race conditions and inventory desyncs. The lock releases when you close the interface or walk past interaction range.
- Contribution Splits: An optional config toggle (
enableContributionRatio) divides rewards by each player's share of total moves when multiple players work on the same machine. When disabled, non-owners take a configurable item tax when claiming. - Automation & Exploit Guards:
- Piston pushes are blocked (
PushReaction.BLOCK). - Hoppers and item pipes cannot pull starter items out while active tiles remain on the grid.
- Breaking the block drops all converted board items on the ground.
- Board states serialize directly to disk on every move to prevent progress loss across chunk unloads
