About this project

What does Echo Below add?

Echo Below

Ever wondered what’s hiding behind that wall? The Echo Stone sends out a resonating sonar pulse, just like a bat’s echolocation. As the wave spreads, hidden caves and hollow spaces nearby light up with a glowing outline you can see through the walls, then fade away a few seconds later.

Features

  • Echo pulse: Expanding resonance rings ripple out from you.
  • See hidden caves: Caves, tunnels and air pockets behind walls are briefly outlined, just like the Glowing effect.
  • Echoes you can hear: Echo pings return from the caves the pulse finds. Big caves sound deeper, small pockets brighter.
  • Custom sounds: Made just for the stone, with subtitles.
  • Animated texture: The stone’s core pulses with its own echo.
  • Durable tool: 128 uses, works with Unbreaking and Mending, and can be repaired with Echo Shards.

Recipe

2 Echo Shards, 2 Amethyst Shards and 1 Sculk Sensor (shaped). The recipe unlocks when you pick up an Echo Shard.

Configurable

In-game via Mods → Echoes Below → Config: range, outline duration, color and limit, minimum cave size, particles, echo sounds, durability and cooldown.

Compatibility

NeoForge 1.21.11, 26.1.x, 26.2.x and 26.3.x. Required on both client and server. Only the player using the stone sees the outlines.
