About this project
What does Ludomania add?
A mod about where "just one more bet" really ends.
You join the world with a phone in your inventory. It has a casino website, a bank, microloans and messages. At first it's fun: upgrades, slots, cases with a spinning reel. Then the diamonds run out. Then QuickCash shows up. Then the calls, the frozen account, debt collectors at your door and "SEALED" tape around your house.
Dark humor and satire, no real money.
Casino: bet items, win items
You bet items from your inventory, the casino values them in chips ◈ and pays out in items too.
- Upgrader: trade your bet for any item in the game, with odds based on value. You can pick the target's enchantments and durability.
- Crash: the rocket climbs, the multiplier grows, cash out in time.
- Mines: a 5×5 field; find emeralds, avoid the TNT.
- Plinko: 8–16 rows, three risk levels.
- Coin flip: creeper or pig.
- Roulette: a 15-sector wheel, red, black or green ×14.
- Slots: three original machines (Vegetables, Mob House, Ore Party) with cascades, bonus rounds and multipliers.
- Cases: 40+ cases in the style of CS2 case sites across four tabs (Minecraft, Farm, Brand, Items), from 300 chips to a million. Items with enchantments, wear and curses, open up to 10 at once, a free trial case every day.
Economy
Every item's value is calculated automatically from recipes: crafting, smelting, stonecutting, smithing and potion brewing. Enchantments and wear count too. It works with items from other mods. All prices and multipliers can be changed in the config.
Debt
- Bank: low interest, but you need a credit score and collateral.
- QuickCash microloans: everyone is approved, interest every in-game day.
- Credit score: goes up when you repay on time, down when you're late.
- Escalating delinquency: reminders, calls from day 2, a frozen account from day 4 (all incoming funds go to the debt).
- Debt collectors from day 6: a crew shows up in person and takes your items, most valuable first. You can fight back, but next time there will be more of them, and they'll bring axes. What happens on day 15 is better discovered on your own.
- Home seizure from day 20: the area around your bed is sealed, chests and doors won't open, your spawn point is reset. Pay off the debt and the seal comes off.
For servers
- Three collector modes: soft, realistic and hardcore. Collectors can be turned off entirely.
- The mod never breaks blocks, in any mode: a sealed home is only locked.
- Everything is configurable in
config/ludomania/: economy, loans, casino, cases, collectors. - The mod is required on both the server and the client.
Important
The mod uses in-game currency only. Chips can't be bought for real money and can't be cashed out. This is satire about gambling, not an advertisement for it.
