About this project

What does World Omens add?

World Omens

World Omens brings ten random events to your Minecraft world, each with its own creatures, bosses and rewards. A minute before an event starts, everyone gets a warning. Then the moon turns red, meteors start to fall, or a horde comes out of the dark.

Events

  • Blood Moon: More monsters spawn, with extra health and damage, but they drop double loot and XP. Nobody can sleep it away, and the Blood Moon Lord may come for you. It ends at dawn.
  • Gold Rush: For five minutes, ores drop double. Catch the Mimic Sack before it hops away and it bursts into gold.
  • Meteor Shower: Shooting stars streak across the sky and meteors crash nearby, leaving small craters lined with ores. Living Meteorites crawl out of some of them.
  • Thunderstorm: Lightning strikes all around you, creepers get charged, and Storm Spirits hurl bolts at you.
  • Blessed Harvest: Crops around you grow on their own and ripe crops drop double. A friendly Harvest Spirit follows you and leaves golden seeds.
  • Merchant Caravan: A Nomad Merchant camps nearby with rare goods and event items.
  • Horde: Survive three growing waves of monsters. The Horde Warlord leads the last one.
  • Treasure Hunt: A loot chest appears not far away. Your action bar tells you when you're getting warmer and a beam of light marks the spot, but the Spectral Captain keeps it shut until he falls.
  • Eruption (Nether): Fire geysers burst from the ground around you while the Magma Colossus rises to hunt you.
  • Void Storm (End): Void Stalkers blink in behind you and blind you, while void pulses lift you into the air and let you drift back down.

Creatures and rewards

Meet eleven creatures with their own 3D models, four of them bosses. Defeat them to earn unique gear:

  • Blood Scythe: Heals you as you hit.
  • Starfall Pickaxe: Smelts ores as you mine them.
  • Warlord's Axe: Its war cry strengthens you and nearby players, and weakens nearby monsters.
  • Captain's Cutlass: Lunges you forward.
  • Colossus Hammer: Sets whatever it hits on fire.
  • Bottled Lightning: Calls a bolt wherever you look.
  • Unstable Pearl: Blinks you forward, then lets you float down.
  • Golden Seed: Ripens the crops around it at once.

Every event also awards points. The best players are announced at the end, and everyone who took part earns Event Seals, which Nomad Merchants trade for their strongest relics.

Features

  • Server-side: Install it on the server only. Players can join with vanilla Minecraft and still see everything: boss bars, titles, particles and sounds.
  • Optional resource pack: Gives items and creatures their own textures and 3D models. Without it, items look like their vanilla base item and creatures show up as a floating block with their name. In singleplayer, the mod loads it by itself.
  • Safe for your builds: Meteor craters only dig natural terrain and never touch chests, liquids or spawn protection. Geysers, the Colossus and the Captain's cannons never break a block. You can also turn off block changes entirely.
  • Configurable: Set how often each event happens and how long it lasts, or turn it off, in config/worldevents.json. Apply your changes with /worldevents reload.
  • Easy to try: Operators can start any event with /worldevents start <event> (or /eventos start <event>) and summon any creature with /worldevents summon <creature>. In singleplayer, every item and spawn egg is in its own creative tab.
  • Progression: A dedicated advancement tab tracks your victories.
  • Languages: English and Spanish. Each player sees the texts in their own game language.
