About this project

What does Peak's possession add?

The modes

Session modes (what you do to the target)

  • Control: you drive a player or mob. You become an invisible spectator and the target moves from your input.
  • Watch: you only see through the target’s eyes, with no control. Press Shift to stop.
  • Viewer: you watch someone else’s possession, but only if they’ve authorised you.

Input modes (how your controls reach the target, picked automatically)

  • Client input: if you have the mod installed, it sends your real key presses. This is preferred.
  • Flight input: on a vanilla client, you fly and the server reads your flight as input. Fly = walk, fly up = jump, Shift = sneak, Ctrl = sprint, left-click = attack.

Target-input modes (players only)

  • Locked (default): the target’s own keyboard and mouse are ignored and you drive.
  • Shared: the target moves freely unless you press movement keys. Toggle it with G (client) or /possess lock [on|off].

Starting and stopping

Command What it does
/possess <player> Control a player
/possess mob <entity> Control a mob. Use a selector, e.g. @e[type=blaze,limit=1,sort=nearest]
/possess aim Control whatever you’re looking at (up to 64 blocks)
/possess watch <entity> Watch only
/possess stop End your session
/possess stopall End every session (permission level 4)
/possess list, /possess status Show active sessions / mod and client status

While controlling

Any target

  • /possess info: show details about the target.
  • /possess speed <0.1-3>: change speed.
  • /possess sneak|sprint [on|off], /possess jump.
  • /possess say <msg>: chat as the target.
  • /possess cmd <command>: run a command with the target’s permissions.
  • /possess click left|right: one click. For a mob these are abilities 1 and 2.
  • /possess hold left|right|stop: hold a click. Left mines, attacks or uses ability 1; right uses an item or ability 2.

Players

  • /possess inv, /possess ender, /possess curios: read-only views of their inventory, ender chest and Curios.
  • /possess slot <1-9>, /possess swap, /possess drop [all], /possess release: hotbar slot, swap hands, drop, release a bow.
  • /possess fly [on|off], /possess glide: flight and elytra.
  • /possess anim <id>|stop: play an animation.

Mobs

  • /possess a <1-9> uses that ability and /possess abilities lists them.
  • Examples: a Blaze shoots fireballs, a Warden has a sonic boom and shriek, an Enderman teleports.

Pehkui

  • /possess size <scale>.

Sharing your view

  1. /possess share <player> authorises someone, and /possess unshare <player> removes them. /possess viewers lists who’s allowed.
  2. They run /possessview <you>, which needs no permission level. /possessview leave or Shift stops it.

Client-only extras

  • The mod shows the target’s HUD and an interactive version of their inventory.
  • The target can have the client too.
  • Extra keys: G toggles lock, Z/X/C are mob abilities 3-5, and the possessed player can bind ping and release keys.

Permissions: /possess needs permission level 2 by defalut.
