About this project

What does FireCoreLib add?

FireCore

FireCore is the shared core for FireBall1725's NeoForge mods. It holds the code that the mods would otherwise each carry their own copy of, so a fix or a new feature lands once and reaches every mod that uses it. It targets Minecraft 1.21.1 and 26.x, and one source tree builds for all of those versions.

The core covers the common plumbing: version compatibility helpers, NBT and block entity base classes, registration, networking and config, energy storage, redstone modes, rate limiting, next-tick work and a clock for in-world time. It also includes FireGUI, a GUI library for building screens out of layouts, forms, item slots and themes. FireGUI has a quickstart, a widget reference and a cookbook, and its gallery screens run in game with /firecore gui.

Two optional modules sit on top of the core as separate mods. firecore_cc makes block entities into ComputerCraft: Tweaked peripherals, and tracks which computers are attached so events reach them on the next server tick. firecore_ae2 lets an Applied Energistics 2 addon find out which grid node mounted each storage, and tells it when a connection changes inside a grid. A mod installs only the modules it uses, so the core runs without ComputerCraft or AE2 present.
