About this project
What does The Useful Tools Mod add?
Screenshots are from the classic version and still need to be updated
Useful Tools began as a way to give gold more purpose and has grown into a large collection of material-based equipment, spectral mechanics, explosives, world generation, and configurable integrations.
Tools and armor
Useful Tools adds dozens of complete equipment sets with distinct statistics, recipes, and mechanics:
- Reinforced and expanded vanilla materials, including Obsidian, Jagged Obsidian, Reinforced Gold, Emerald, Jagged Emerald, Lapis Lazuli, Hardened Redstone, and OP equipment.
- Crystal and elemental families such as Rough and Calcified Amethyst, Rough and Polished Quartz, Rough and Polished Prismarine, Snow, and Ice. Their set effects include underwater bonuses, melting and fire-d>
- Coal and Hardened Coal equipment that burns while its owner is on fire, can serve as fuel, and can be extinguished in water before it is destroyed.
- Spectral and Spectral-Infused equipment. Any sword or axe can be infused while retaining its original statistics; infused weapons can damage otherwise-immune spectral mobs.
- Cake, Flint, Flint-Iron, Hardened Glowstone, and complete tool families for the vanilla stone types.
Blocks, mobs, and mechanics
- Spectral Infuser: a furnace-like machine that combines ectoplasm with swords and axes to create Spectral-Infused weapons while preserving their original attributes.
- Ectoplasm Lantern: a bounded spectral light that repels hostile Wraiths, responds to redstone, and replaces the former Soul Lantern name while retaining its old ID as a save-compatibility alias.
- Mining Charge and Remote Detonator: place solid-backed directional charges on any face, link them to a detonator, and identify armed charges by their red indicator.
- Ghost: a peaceful flying spectral mob with damage immunity, breeding, baby behavior, armor interaction, loot, and player-visibility mechanics.
- Wraith: a distinct hostile flying and lunging spectral mob. Ectoplasm Lanterns suppress it, and only ectoplasm-infused weapons can damage it. Supported WTHIT versions report its current ward and weapon stat>
- Throwable Grenades, instant-detonation Dynamite, Sticky Dynamite, reinforced-gold ore and storage blocks, materials, recipes, loot, and a broad advancement catalog.
- A built-in in-game configuration screen with 126 controls covering equipment effects, mobs and spawn rates, lantern behavior, explosives, world generation, and other mechanics. Cloth Config and Architectury>
