Quick answer

Which Dimensional Additions release should I use?

Updated 6 days ago

Game version 1.21.11
Loader Fabric

Dimensional Additions 0.2.1.1a targets 1.21.11 with Fabric. Installation on the client is optional. Installation on the dedicated server is optional. All 2 required mods have matching files.

Where it goes

Is Dimensional Additions required on the client, server, or both?

All 2 required mods have matching files

Install Fabric API, Lithostitched first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup.

About this project

What does Dimensional Additions add?

Dimensional Additions Logo

Dimensional Additions is a mod that adds some additional content to the non-Overworld dimensions, primarily featuring a Vanilla-like End Update which intends to mirror the Nether Update in scale while keeping the general vibe of The End intact. Check out the Gallery for the content currently implemented! This mod is currently released in Alpha as I'd like to get what I have out currently while I continue to work on future updates and maintain my other mods

Currently Implemented

  • Four new biomes found in The End, the Purgenta and Endurtica Forests, the Calcite Crags and the Nitrogen Lakes
  • Two almost complete Woodsets for these trees, still need Boats, Chest Boats, Signs, Hanging Signs and Shelves (once I figure out how to do those... -v-;) but placeholder recipes do exist
  • Renames vanilla End Stone to Cobbled End Stone, gives it stairs, slabs and walls, and adds a new block to take the place of Cobbled End Stone called... End Stone lol
  • End Stone also has stairs, slabs, and walls, and drops its Cobbled variant when broken without Silk Touch which can be used in recipes that use Cobblestone
  • Popped Chorus Fruit renamed to Purpur Pebble which drops from blocks of Purpur, functions like Clay Balls + Clay. Vanilla Purpur Blocks renamed to Purpur Bricks
  • New Quartz-like ore called Onyx featuring a dark and dull purple colour
  • Adds an End Equivalent of Dirt/Netherrack called Astral Turf, and two variants of which that the forests grow from called Rose Turf and Verdant Turf which mirror Nylium in functionality
  • Adds foliage to the two biomes with interesting use cases. A spikey Roots block that damages entities like a Cactus but without the collision or item destroying properties, plants which either slow the player down like Webs or provide light, and a Berry that can be eaten for a Low Gravity effect, or brewed into longer lasting Potions of said effect
  • Adds Coal and Diamonds to the End, and Iron to the Nether in Basalt Deltas

Plans for the Future

  • Implement a Strider rework in the form of a new mob called the Basaltrich, a large Ostrich like creature with thick clumps of Basalt protecting its back and feet. Instead of how the Strider functions, the Basaltrich would control like a Horse, slow fall like a Chicken, walk on Lava (of course) and have it's back be able to be stood on like a Happy Ghast. The check for if the Strider is standing on a hot block or else it gets cold and slowed down would be changed to a dimension check, where the heat of the Nether is plenty for the Basaltrich to stay warm while it would need Lava to stand on in the Overworld. A true mount for exploring the Nether!
  • Would also like to add another mob for traversing The End but have no concepts drafted yet
  • Whatever else I can think of that I find suits!

Recommended/(in)Compatable Mods

Mods I've found to be compatible (or not) so far from my own testing;

  • Nightosphere by Walls - [Highly Recommended] Makes changes to the Nethers level design that I personally can never play without
  • World Remoulded by me! - [Optional] Overworld overhaul, and changes other stone materials to drop a Cobbled variant that can be used in crafting
  • Cliff Face by boyonk - [Incompatible (currently)] - This is a mod I recommend with World Remoulded, but in the case of this mod, it causes Stone to generate in certain places in The End with Dimensional Additions installed. I think I know how to fix this, so this may change in the future This issue should now be fixed!
  • Chopt by ItsJustMeChris (or any other Tree Chopping mod really) - [Recommended] Helps with chopping down the new trees in the End Forests
  • Sensible Inventory Tweaks by me! - [Compatible] Along with many Loot Table/Recipe changes and other additions, what I want to highlight here is the rework to the Nether Fungi, where they have dedicated Mushroom Cap blocks that decay when their Stems are chopped down
  • Progression Reshuffled by me again lol - [Highly Recommended] Adds an End equivalent of Netherite, along with improving the games progression in general

Thank you for checking out my mod!
