About this project
What does Resource Bees add?
🐝 Resource Bees
Tired of endless grinding in dark mines? It's time to delegate that job to the professionals!
Resource Bees is a lightweight and balanced mod that introduces unique resource-producing bees to your Minecraft world. Say goodbye to tedious grinding, automate your material gathering, and build your very own buzzing factory!
🆕 New in 1.2.0
- Bee levels 1–5: upgrade your bees on a crafting table and make them up to 4× faster.
- Hive status: the Resource Hive shows what every bee is doing (Mining / No ore / Full) with a progress bar.
- Smarter bees: they no longer drown in water, always find their way back to the hive and never duplicate.
- Mod compatibility: bees work with ores from other mods, and the Golden Bee works with Nether Gold Ore too.
- Bee jars now remember the bee's level, name and health. Copper Bees produce Copper Ingots. Much lighter on performance.
✨ Key Features
9 Unique Bees: From basic Coal to endgame Netherite, collect bees that passively generate valuable resources over time.
The Resource Hive: A heavy-duty, iron-reinforced hive designed specifically for your hardworking bees. It safely stores all generated loot and supports full automation (connect hoppers or pipes directly to it!). Hover over a bee's status to see when the next resource arrives or what the bee is missing.
Bee Jars: Catch wild bees using Empty Bee Jars, transport them safely in your inventory, and release them wherever you need. The bee keeps its level, name and health.
Bee Levels: Every bee can be upgraded from level 1 to level 5. Higher levels produce faster, and a level 5 bee has a 10% chance to produce a double drop.
Endgame Crafting: Craft high-tier bees (like the Netherite Bee) in the late game for ultimate automation.
📖 Mini-Guide: How It Works
Catch a Bee: Craft an Empty Bee Jar, find a resource bee spawning naturally in its specific biome, and right-click it with the jar to capture it.
Set Up the Hive: Place your Resource Hive at your base and insert your filled Bee Jars into the input slots.
The Ore Requirement: For a bee to work, the matching ore block must be placed nearby! The ore block must be located within 6 blocks horizontally and between -1 to 5 blocks vertically from the hive. Normal, Deepslate and modded ores all count. Example: to produce Iron Ingots, place an Iron Ore block near the hive.
Upgrade: Surround a Bee Jar with 8 of its resource on a crafting table to raise its level (see the table below).
Automation: Collect the loot manually, or place a hopper underneath the hive for 100% automated extraction!
⬆️ Bee Levels
| Level | Speed | Upgrade cost (8 items around the jar) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | ×1 | — |
| 2 | ×1.5 | 8 resources (e.g. 8 Diamonds) |
| 3 | ×2 | 8 resources |
| 4 | ×3 | 8 resource blocks (e.g. 8 Diamond Blocks) |
| 5 | ×4 + 10% double drop | 8 resource blocks |
Netherite Bee: 8 Netherite Scrap → 4 Netherite Ingots (corners) + 4 Netherite Scrap → 8 Netherite Ingots → 8 Netherite Ingots.
