About this project

What does uberHardCraft add?

Welcome to UBER HARD CRAFT!

This mod attemps to drastically overhual the progression fo minecraft in a similar vain to RLCraft and Better Than Wolves.

Currently...

this mod is in very early development meaning bugs reports, feedback, feature requests, or any other ways to help would be appreciated! You can find us on Discord.

What has been changed so far?

Its highly reccomended to go in blind, and if you need help you can refer to the images on the gallery page for some pointers. The mod includes advancments and is supposed to be doable without a guide. However, if your curious:

Guide

Flint Age

Flint plates are the key to flint tools, they are crafted like so:

Crafting recipes for the flint plates. 1 Flint, 2 Flint, and 3 Flint Respectivley.

Once crafted, place the plate on the ground and smash it with a rock. Rocks can be obtained by breaking dirt while hold a sift. Smashing the plate yeilds a tool head which can be crafted with a bark fiber and stick to create a flint tool. Bark fiber and sticks can be obtained by breaking trees without an axe.

  • Pro tip, the sift can be used to increase you flint rates as well!

Kiln [Multiblock]

Building a kiln is now required to progress to copper tools.
A diagram for a kiln can be seen in the gallery:

Diagram for Kiln Construction

The center of the kiln is the kiln fire, which can be crafted like so:

Recipe for the kiln fire

To begin construction, place the fire in the center of a 3 by 3 base of any log. Next, you must build a vertical superstucture to completley contain the kiln fire from the outside. Valid blocks for the structure are: Kiln Block, Kiln Hatch, Kiln Vent.
The Kiln Rack is placed on the inside of the structure, and is permitted but not required.
Here are the recipes for the Kiln Blockset:

Recipes for the Kiln Blockset

Finally, ensure that there is a path of Kiln Vents that leads from the kiln fire to an air block. Now you can light your kiln fire using the firestarter item.
To actually smelt copper using the Kiln, you must craft a crucible like so:

Recipe for the Clay Crucible

Once crafted, place the clay crucible inside of the Kiln and ensure that the kiln fire is ingnited. Now, wait until at least 4 of the logs on base have been converted to coal blocks. After that, the clay crucible should be fired. Now you can deposit your raw copper inside of the crucible and close the kiln again. Wait until at least 6 of the logs on the base have been converted to coal blocks and open the kiln again, the copper should be melted. Now the most important step is to use tongs to pick up the crucible and pour it into a mold. A blank mold can be crafted with two clay balls and one sand, and can be imprinted with a tool head to make a mold of that variety.

Wooden tongs, firestarter, and sift:

Goals of UBER HARD CRAFT!

  • Minimize the use of GUIs and other UIs in progression
  • Make progression harder and more expansive by adding different unique and complex paths
  • Compact with other mods such as create to enhance the experience
