A Fabric Mod that creates a border overlay over items in your inventory to show you at a glance what items are custom. Designed for LumaMC.
Quick answer
Which Custom Item Highlighter release should I use?
Custom Item Highlighter 1.2.1 targets 26.2 with Fabric. It must be installed on the client. Do not install it on the dedicated server. All 1 required mods have matching files.
Where it goes
Is Custom Item Highlighter required on the client, server, or both?
It must be installed on the client. Do not install it on the dedicated server.
This file is marked client-only.
What else does Custom Item Highlighter 1.2.1 need?
1.2.1. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Fabric API first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup. 1 comes through another mod in the chain.
1 extra mod was pulled in by another dependency. Indented rows show who needs each one. We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

custom_name) or plugin NBT (custom_data). No item lists to maintain. - 🌈 Tier-aware colors — reads the item's tier line from its lore and colors the border to match. Items with multiple tier colors get a smooth animated c
- 🖼️ Everywhere, not just chests — hooks the GUI item-render pipeline itself, so the border follows the item into any inventory screen, the hotbar, and modded HUDs.
- ⚙️ Fully configurable — border thickne fallback color, color-cycle speed, andper-method detection toggles. Config screen via Mod Menu.
- 🔍 Lore debug screen — built-in tool t its exact colors to help you (or us) tunedetection for your server.
- 🪶 Client-side only — nothing to install on the server. Cloth Config is bundled; Mod Menu is optional.
