About this project

What does Custom Item Highlighter add?

Custom Item Highlighter

Ever lose track of which items in a chest are actually special? Custom Item Highlighter draws a colored border around every custom server item, wherever items are rendered — container GUIs, your hotbar, even other mods' HUD overlays (Inventory HUD+, MiniHUD, Tweakeroo).

Built for Luma MC, works on any server whose plugins rename items or attach custom data.

Features

  • 🎯 Automatic detection — flags any item with a custom display name (custom_name) or plugin NBT (custom_data). No item lists to maintain.
  • 🌈 Tier-aware colors — reads the item's tier line from its lore and colors the border to match. Items with multiple tier colors get a smooth animated c
  • 🖼️ Everywhere, not just chests — hooks the GUI item-render pipeline itself, so the border follows the item into any inventory screen, the hotbar, and modded HUDs.
  • ⚙️ Fully configurable — border thickne fallback color, color-cycle speed, andper-method detection toggles. Config screen via Mod Menu.
  • 🔍 Lore debug screen — built-in tool t its exact colors to help you (or us) tunedetection for your server.
  • 🪶 Client-side only — nothing to install on the server. Cloth Config is bundled; Mod Menu is optional.
