Assorted Discoveries

Welcome to Assorted Discoveries! This is a mod built for fabric that has always been about creating a modded experience that blends seamlessly with vanilla Minecraft. Each new item, block, and food has been carefully considered as to how well they fit into the original game. I hope that through my mod, you can find new features that you always wished Minecraft would add. Any of these features can also be disabled easily through the config as well!

Changes in version 3.0.0:

Version 3.0.0 is a major rewrite of the mod! Therefore there are many many changes and additions and a few blocks removed or planned for different mods! Here is a summary of what's changed:

Removed features:

• The weeping heart has been replaced with a new block: The bog blossom! This block spawns in swamps and unlike the weeping heart can be multiplied instantly with bonemeal!
• The maroon wool, glass, etc. have been removed since Minecraft has the dyes hardcoded.
• The red glass block and red glass pane has been removed since its implementation could have caused problems in other mods.
• Bok choy and Garlic was removed to simplify the noodle soup recipe!
• The seed packet was removed because there is a new block called Wild Green Onions. This block drops Green Onion Seeds! Future seeds will be handled in the same way.
• I removed the snow slab, snow stairs, and snow slab, because they were too similar to the packed snow variants!
• Tuff Bricks were removed because Minecraft added their own.
• Fresh and Dried Bamboo gates and fences were removed, because minecraft added the bamboo blocks.
• Removed the dried bamboo item.
• Removed the icicle, because I felt that it didn't fit.
• The cabins, lumberjack, and villager variants have been removed and are planned for a different mod to help speed up development of both mods.
• The starry night painting has been removed, because I wasn't happy with it.
• Removed the Crimson Villager Plushie and Warped Villager Plushie. These were removed because the villager variants are no longer part of this mod.
• Removed the zombie villager plushies, Ravager Beast Plushie, Wandering Trader Villager Plushie, and Polar Bear Plushie. These were removed so I could get the mod out. I'll probably re-add the Ravager Beast Plushie and Polar Bear Plushie later.
• Removed the Light Gray Horse Plushie because there isn't a matching mob in Minecraft.

Added/Changed Features:

• Each plushie's skin has been redone by hand to match Minecraft better. For instance the desert villager plushie matches the desert better!
• Many new cat and dog plushies! As well as a new sniffer plushie, camel plushie, evoker plushie, as well as a few more!
• All Cat and Wolf plushies now can sit!
• Sheep Plushies are now colored dynamically similar to how mobs are done!
• The Pufferfish Plushie is now a singular plushie
• Planter Boxes have new textures for all wood types in vanilla!
• The rope ladders have new textures!
• Added unstripped wood walls for each remaining wood type!
• Added stripped wood walls for each remaining wood type!
• The colored lanterns, colored campfires, and colored torches have new textures!
• Added calcite stairs, calcite walls, and calcite slabs
• Added polished calcite, polished calcite stairs, slabs, and walls
• The calcite bricks have a new texture that matches Minecraft's tuff bricks better.
• Added dripstone stairs, dripstone walls, and dripstone slabs
• Added polished dripstone, polished dripstone stairs, slabs, and walls
• The dripstone bricks have a new texture that matches Minecraft's tuff bricks better.
• Added Rooted Dirt Slab, Podzol Slab, and Mycelium Slab
• The Purple Mushroom Block now has better height calculations!
• The cattail's texture has been improved and they can now be placed in flower pots!
• Snapdragons no longer teleport the player!
• Improved the blood kelp lantern texture!
• Improved the fried egg texture!
• Improved the caramel texture!
• Improved the blueberries and blueberry bush texture
• The nether has two new bushes, the cindersnap bush themed for the crimson forest and the frostbite bush themed for the warped forest. These bushes can spawn in either biome!
• Added Warped and Crimson forage mixes. These are two new foods that can be crafted from the new nether berries!
• Added hoglin stew
• Improved the berry pudding texture!
• Improved the blueberry juice texture
• Improved the sweet berry juice texture
• Added cindersnap juice
• Added frostbite juice
• A new config system so that any feature can be disabled!

Technical Changes:

• The mod id has been updated from assorteddiscoveries to assorted-discoveries to match fabrics new mod id.

Features:

• New crops and dynamic planter boxes.
• Rope ladders of every wood type that can hang from blocks.
• Lots of new foods (including cakes and pies).
• Colored lanterns, campfires, and torches.
• Plushies of nearly every mob in the game!
• A new bouncy mushroom type.
• A new plant that releases particles.
• Rabbits can fall further before taking damage.
• And tons of new blocks as well as a few new variations for existing blocks.

Info for Server Admins and Modpack Creators:

• The Assorted Discoveries Config Screen only edits the local config file (the one in the .minecraft folder). For servers, please manually edit the generated config file in your server's config folder after running Assorted Discoveries for the first time!
