About this project

What does Mob Despawn Timers add?

Once upon a time, mob farms could be created that ignored players, and all was right with the world. However, at some point, a catastrophe struck - for performance reasons, mobs that were not close enough to a player would immediately despawn. This meant that while spawners could operate, the mobs they would spawn would vanish in a single tick, far before any automation could have had the chance to slay them for drops.

This mod fixes that issue. Mob Despawn Timers adds the ability to set the minimum amount of time a mob must exist in the world before being allowed to despawn naturally, defaulting to 30 seconds.
