EpicParagliders

A compat mod to add the Paraglider's stamina system to Epic Fight. Obviously, a lot of this code is derived from both Epic Fight and Paragliders, therefore a lot of credit is owed to both of those teams. I've spent several sleepless nights trying to make these two mods play nice together because I think the marriage of the two would be a fantastic concept for myself and hopefully a few others.

The Config

  • This mod creates a config file here 'saves/YOUR_WORLD_NAME/serverconfig/epicparaglider-server.toml'
    • The config file allows you to edit the amount of stamina that the Epic Fight weapon types drain. By default a weapon drains stamina based on its attack damage and the multiplier set in the config file. For example an iron sword would drain 6 * 2.5 (config default for swords) = 15. By adjusting the multiplier, you can raise and lower the amount of stamina each weapon type drains to your heart's content.
    • The config file also allows you to edit the status effects, and their respective strengths, for when the player runs out of stamina. There will be two lists denoted by brackets [ ]. The first list will allow you to add the effect ID (I provided a link to the minecraft wiki status effects list, which has the ID for each one), and the second list will allow you to edit the strength for the respective effects added (if no strength is provided, then the default will be 1).

Skills

The Epic Fight Skills work a bit differently in this mod. Most have had their original behavior modified in order to properly integrate with Paragliders stamina system.

  • Attacks: Both basic and simple special attacks now drain stamina based on the swing time of the item as well as the give item's attack damage. Weapons with higher attack damage and/or slower swing speeds will drain more stamina. This system currently does have its flaws, and I'll be tweaking it more in the future.
  • Guard: Stamina is drained when guarding based on the player's weight (armor weight. Higher means less drained), the impact of the blocked attack, and the penalty of consecutive blocks. The penalty for consecutive blocks has been toned down some in favor of overall higher block costs. May be tweaked more in the future.
  • Active Guard: Similar to Guard, Active Guard is a type of guard that focuses on parrying attacks. Originally, if the player blocked right before an attack then they would have no stamina penalty, and if not then they would have the normal stamina penalty of guard. There are only benefits. Now, if the player guards right before an attack 35% of the stamina will be drained, and if they just guard 35% **extra** stamina will be applied. There is a risk/reward to the skill now, which makes this great against solo enemies, but not against groups.
  • Dodge: Stamina is drained based on player weight. So, heavier armors will drain more stamina.
  • Stamina Pillager: Still gives the player roughly 30% of their missing stamina on killing an entity. This factors into stamina already being drained by actions, which means if an action is being performed when an entity is killed, then less stamina will be drained by the action if the stamina to return is less. If the stamina to return is higher than the stamina being drained, or if no stamina is being drained at all, then it will be clear that the player is gaining stamina from the skill by a section of the wheel representing the stamina to be returned turning blue.
  • Technician: Doesn't completely negate stamina from dodging when dodging right before an enemy's attack. Instead, this reduces the dodge stamina consumption by 50%.
