About this project
What does CoolCatLib: Core add?
🐾 CoolCatLib: Core
Write it once, run it everywhere.
CoolCatLib: Core is the purr-fect foundation for your mods: events, networking, registries, configs and more, all written once in common code.
📦 Players: this is a library. Install it when a mod asks for it. On its own it adds nothing to your game.
✨ What's inside
🧩 Mod constructors
Write your mod's entry points once (common, client, dedicated server and data generation) and let Core wire them up. No loader-specific boilerplate.
📣 Events
A clean, ordered event system with phases, cancellable results and your own custom events. Built-ins cover server lifecycle and ticks, players, entities, blocks, commands, client ticks, HUD rendering, tooltips and more.
📡 Networking
Send payloads in both directions with a single call. Plain records don't even need a codec: Core builds one from their components (primitives, strings, Minecraft types, enums, lists, maps, optionals and nested records).
📚 Registries
DeferredRegister, creative tabs, reload listeners, block entity types, key mappings, menu screens and tooltip components, all from common code.
⚙️ Configs
A full config system with a beautiful in-game editor:
- Typed values, groups, presets, validation and migrations
- Client, common, server, world and startup scopes, with server sync
- Themed config screens with dark and light modes, search, categories, undo/redo and a color picker
- Live file reloading and
/coolcatcorecommands
🎒 Attachments, containers and menus
Attach synced data to entities, block entities, chunks and item stacks. Use ready-made containers, slot layouts and storage menus that other mods' pipes and tools can reach.
🧪 And more
Brewing recipes, data-generation helpers, chat formatting, codecs, math and color utilities.
