About this project

What does Extra Spell Attributes (RPG Series Tweaks) add?

Extra Spell Attributes expands Minecraft combat with a collection of RPG-style attributes inspired by games such as Path of Exile and Last Epoch. Rather than simply increasing armor or health, these attributes give players new ways to build around damage mitigation, recovery, avoidance, and specialized defenses.

Many of the mod's attributes can be acquired through their corresponding enchantments, allowing them to appear naturally as part of equipment progression. The mod also includes several trinkets that provide access to these mechanics directly. In newer 1.21.1 versions, tagged class armor can also convert into these attributes automatically.

Reabsorption
Provides a pool of recoverable Absorption Hearts. After going a short time without taking damage, lost Reabsorption begins restoring itself. The Warding enchantment grants Reabsorption.

Glancing Blows
Gives incoming attacks a chance to become Glancing Blows, reducing their damage by 35%. The Glancing enchantment increases your chance to receive a Glancing Blow. In newer 1.21.1 versions, this chance is driven by Evasion Rating: every 15 Evasion Rating turns an incoming hit into a Glancing Blow, with leftover rating acting as a chance at one more. Rating beyond 15 therefore procs multiple times, applying its damage reduction multiplicatively per proc.

Spell Suppression
Gives hostile spells a chance to be Suppressed, causing them to deal 50% less damage. The Suppressing enchantment increases Spell Suppression. In newer 1.21.1 versions, this chance is driven by Suppression Rating: every 25 Suppression Rating Suppresses an incoming spell, with leftover rating acting as a chance at one more. Rating beyond 25 therefore procs multiple times, applying its damage reduction multiplicatively per proc.

Spellbreak
Improves Spell Suppression further. Whenever you successfully Suppress a spell, Spellbreak gives you a chance to ignore its damage entirely, up to a maximum 75% chance. The Spellbreaking enchantment increases Spellbreak. In newer 1.21.1 versions, this enchant does not exist.

Defiance
Directly subtracts damage from incoming hits. Defiance becomes less efficient as more of it is accumulated, making it particularly useful against repeated smaller hits without allowing it to scale indefinitely. The Defiance enchantment increases this attribute. In newer 1.21.1 versions, this stat is deprecated.

Recoup
Causes a percentage of damage you take to be regenerated over the following several seconds. Rather than preventing damage outright, Recoup lets durable characters recover from sustained punishment. The Battle Rouse enchantment increases Recoup.

Damage Absorbed
Turns part of the damage prevented by your armor into Absorption Hearts. Heavily armored characters can therefore convert successful mitigation into an additional defensive buffer. The Absorbing enchantment improves this effect. This enchant only exists in 1.21.1+.

Endurance
Reduces damage taken that is within your Endurance Threshold. Endurance functions similarly to armor and becomes more effective as you invest into it. The Enduring enchantment increases Endurance. This enchant only exists in 1.21.1+. In newer versions, Endurance Threshold is fixed at 20% of your life.

Endurance Threshold
Determines how much of your health pool is protected by Endurance. Increasing the threshold allows Endurance to begin protecting you earlier as your health falls. The Fortified enchantment increases your Endurance Threshold. This enchant only exists in 1.21.1+. In newer 1.21.1 versions, this stat and enchant instead increase healing received from Saturation, and the stat is simply named Fortitude.

Armor Conversion
In newer 1.21.1 versions, class armor declared through item tags converts into one of these defensive attributes by material tier, rather than relying on enchantments alone. Mage robes grant Reabsorption, light armor grants Evasion Rating, and heavy armor grants Fortitude. A full set of the highest tier is budgeted to roughly double a character's effective durability, and each piece contributes an equal share, so mixed sets degrade sensibly.
