About this project
What does Runeforged add?

Runeforged is a vanilla+ gear progression mod inspired by Path of Exile.
Collect Rune Stones, customize your gear, challenge high-level and Elite monsters, and hunt for legendary equipment.

- Quality, affix, Transmutation, variant, and Infusion systems for building weapons that truly feel like yours
- 4 new weapon types and 6 Weapon Skills, giving different weapons clearly distinct combat rhythms
- Rune Stone crafting that lets you actively shape a weapon's fate
- Unique Rune-Cursed weapons with fixed affix combinations and powerful abilities
- Alienation and Cursed paths that bring high-risk, high-reward equipment changes
- Monster Levels and Elite monsters, offering more dangerous fights and richer rewards
- Four elements, weaknesses, and reaction systems, so combat is more than a simple stat comparison

In Runeforged, most equipment has quality and affixes.
From Common, Magic, and Rare gear to Legendary weapons, you can keep improving, filtering, and shaping your equipment. Beyond that, there are also more dangerous paths such as Cursed gear.
Affixes can give equipment entirely new capabilities. You can gain Elemental Damage, Attack Range, status effects, Sun Blessing, and more, turning an ordinary weapon step by step into a true endgame piece.
You can also use a smithing table to apply Transmutation to weapons. Each Transmutation pushes a weapon in a different direction: for example, reducing its base Physical Damage while greatly increasing the Physical Damage gained from affixes. Strong bonuses often come with clear tradeoffs, making different weapon bases and build ideas matter.

In addition to vanilla weapons such as Swords, Axes, and Spears, the mod adds 4 new weapon types:
- Rapier: longer Attack Range, retreats after attacking, flexible and dangerous
- Greatsword: extremely slow but extremely heavy, with leap attacks and sweeping strikes that create powerful pressure
- Dagger: high Attack Speed and high Critical Strike Chance, suited to close-range combos and offhand attacks
- Scythe: combines sweeping attacks and elemental potential, excelling at controlling groups of monsters

Vanilla weapons have also been reworked: Swords gain more reliable sweeping and critical strikes, Axes focus more on Heavy Strike and leap attacks, and Spears gain their own role in dash-based combat.
Each weapon also has a matching Weapon Skill: Heavy Strike, Slash, Pierce, Lion's Slash, Slice, Sweep... Different weapons do not just have different numbers. They play differently.
On top of that, there are 18 weapon variants in total. Variants such as Broadsword, Heavy Rapier, and Two-Handed Greatsword can further change a weapon's attributes and combat style, and some variants even bring new Weapon Skills.

Rune Stones are one of Runeforged's core progression resources. From Shaping, Reinforcement, and Tempering to Sealing, Infusion, Ascension, and Alienation, different Rune Stones can change a weapon's fate step by step.
You can obtain Rune Stones through exploration, monster drops, trading, crafting, and more. Even copper, lapis lazuli, and amethyst, which often pile up in vanilla, take part in Rune Stone recipes and gain new value here.

Beyond the regular progression route, you can also combine Rune Stones with ordinary weapons to craft unique Rune-Cursed weapons. There are now eight archetypes, each with its own fixed, powerful ability package:
- Foundation: stable and powerful Physical Damage
- Military: an active combat style built around single-wielding and dash attacks
- Molten: a fire route that strengthens Attack Range and knockback
- Resonance: a unique template built from dual Elemental Damage
- Purification: cleansing power built from Holy damage, Sun Blessing, and Undead Slayer
- Bloodthirst: extremely high Critical Strike Chance and burst potential
- Ancient: an Ice/Lightning conversion route with penetration and an extra sealed flat-damage layer
- Nature: a hybrid route that starts with a max-roll infusion affix and keeps the normal infusion loop

Most archetypes still become fixed-form cursed gear that cannot be repaired, enchanted, or reshaped through ordinary methods.
If you are willing to take greater risks, you can also use an Alien Gem. Alienation may push a weapon toward more extreme power, but it can also bring unpredictable and irreversible consequences.

In Runeforged, monsters have levels. Difficulty, depth, dimension, and other factors all affect how strong they become.
Some monsters can also become Elites, gaining higher levels and unique abilities.
Defeating more dangerous enemies also means better rewards: Rare equipment, advanced Rune Stones, and even true Legendary drops.
Combat is not the only path, of course. You can also obtain valuable resources and equipment through chest exploration, villager trading, fishing, and crafting.

Fire, Frost, Lightning, and Holy run through Runeforged's combat and equipment systems.
- Fire: burning and damage over time
- Frost: chilling, slowing, and control
- Lightning: has a chance to trigger lightning strikes for extra damage
- Holy: more threatening against undead, with a chance to restore health
They each have their own basic effects, and they also interact with enemy weaknesses, resistances, and status reactions.
- Burning: reduces Frost Resistance and Physical Resistance
- Chilling: reduces Fire Resistance and Frost Resistance, and can interrupt Creeper explosions and Enderman teleportation
- Lightning Strike: reduces all elemental resistances on the target
- Holy: increases your own all-element resistance
Combat is no longer just a comparison of numbers. Choose the right weapon, attributes, and elemental route to build your own combat style.
