PMW Extra!
This mod Completely Overhauls Protomanlys weather, adding storm features, quality of life features, and more!
Quick answer
Which PMW Extra! release should I use?
PMW Extra! 0.1.8 targets 1.21.1 with NeoForge. The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both. All 1 required mods have matching files.
Where it goes
Is PMW Extra! required on the client, server, or both?
The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both.
The source does not explicitly classify this release as client-only or server-only.
What else does PMW Extra! 0.1.8 need?
0.1.8. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install ProtoManly's Weather first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup. 1 comes through another mod in the chain.
1 extra mod was pulled in by another dependency. Indented rows show who needs each one. We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does PMW Extra! add?
🌪️Storm Changes
Forward Flank downdraft now generates wind, flowing outward from the downdraft center. This wind can be destructive at times, depending on the storms strength, lapse rate, and humidity
Hail now correctly scales based on atmospheric conditions like humidity and mid level lapse rates
Forward Flank downdraft now generates lightning
Rainy supercells now have a stronger windfield, dry supercells have a weaker windfield
Added a new precip bias mechanic to storms, storms will spawn with a unique precip bias while still being affected by the environment.
All supercells no longer look the same on radar, supercell radar appearance changes based on hail strength, humidity, precip bias, size, and stage
Supercells can now be different sizes (70% to 140%)
Tornados that shrink past their natural width have a slight
windspeed increase and tornadoes that grow past their natural width have a slight windspeed decrease (up to 10%)Variable Tornado Widths - Tornado widths now change randomly throughout their lifetime, completely independent of windspeed
Wobbling - Tornadoes can now wobble left or right randomly, be careful...
Storm Revival - Dying tornadoes have a chance to unexpectedly regain strength
Scaled Lightning - Lightning frequency now correlates with storm intensity
🍃 New Wind Behavior
Enhanced Wind Damage - Makes tornado damage More accurate, but also more destructive
Player Wind Damage - High winds can now damage players (90+ MPH)
Projectile Physics - Arrows, ender pearls, and other projectiles are deflected by wind fields
Wind Feedback - Your screen shakes with the intensity of the wind
🎈 Weather Station/Balloon Platform Changes

Weather stations can now be named
Weather stations can now send out automated morning messages telling you the conditions at a location
Sounding platform stations can now be named
Weather stations can now store weather balloons and be scheduled to launch in the morning, evening, or afternoon
Changed the sounding viewer design, now numerically displays the cape, cinh, and SRH recorded during the sounding
Added Fire Risk to weather stations
🌡️ Thermodynamic Changes

Places with high overcast now create temperature inversions aloft, this increases CINH and decreases tornado probability
Places with overcast cloud cover and rain have increased humidity
Temperature now decreases in the Forward flank downdraft
Cloud heights are determined by the calculated lifting condensation level
Other Additions
Added wind strength and flammability tooltips
Added Rain threshold config value that determines the humidity needed for supercells to have rain
Added a debug config option that makes connected sounding viewers always display live data
Added UI that tells you the current day and month
Made wind direction in weather station message display as a cardinal direction instead of an angle
Added morning Fog
Added no overcast precip Config option so players can still have background clouds that wont create rain
🖥️Commands
New /storm commands that allow you to spawn storms with no size or wind speed limits. You can now also choose the X,Z coordinate of where you want the storm to be spawned
