Quick answer
Which KoHs Death Effects release should I use?
KoHs Death Effects 2.1.2+mc26.3 targets 26.3 with Fabric. It must be installed on the client. Do not install it on the dedicated server. All 1 required mods have matching files.
Where it goes
Is KoHs Death Effects required on the client, server, or both?
It must be installed on the client. Do not install it on the dedicated server.
This file is marked client-only.
What else does KoHs Death Effects 2.1.2+mc26.3 need?
2.1.2+mc26.3. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Fabric API first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup. 1 comes through another mod in the chain.
1 extra mod was pulled in by another dependency. Indented rows show who needs each one. We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does KoHs Death Effects add?
KoHs Death Effects
Content warning. This mod shows violent deaths and can show graphic gore: blood, wounds, dismemberment and the inside of a body. It is not suitable for children or for sensitive viewers. The first time the game starts with it, it warns you and asks how much gore to show: Soft (the default: no blood and nothing under the skin), Medium or Very graphic. Medium and Very graphic are only shown after you confirm that you are an adult and accept seeing them under your own responsibility. You can change the level at any time in the settings.
KoHs Death Effects replaces the way players die in Minecraft with animated, configurable effects, from a quiet silhouette to a full fatality. It is a client-side Fabric mod: you install it in your own game and no server needs it.
Death effects
Pick one from the list and tune it:
- Ragdoll, The Angels, Hellfire, The Reaper, Shatter, Dust, Firework
- The Grave, The Void, Smite, Silhouette, Ghost, Kids, Balloon
- Zymekoh's Pet Food, Dismemberment, Job Application, Fallen Knight
- Game Over, Glitch, KoHs On Top, Torture
Morph is being rebuilt and is switched off for now.
With Torture the body stays where it fell: click it to dent and break what it wears, open it a layer at a time and tear it apart.
Fatality
The death becomes a finishing scene, performed with the weapon in hand. Every weapon has several ways of doing it, and the scene adapts to where it happens: open ground, a cave or a narrow corridor. A key of your choice finishes a dizzy player within reach.
There are also 25 special fatalities, each tied to an item:
- Shotgun, The Clones, Shinigami, Singularity, Time stop
- Resonance, Voodoo, Titan, Puppeteer, Meteor
- Unreadkitten's Revenge, The Executioner, Medieval Vengeance, Chainsaw, Mimic
- Iron Maiden, Sandworm, Abduction, Piñata, Crush
- Down to the Bone, Marlow's Revenge, Iron Guardian, The Deep Dark, Fangs
The Soul Vault
Kill a player with your own hand and they will be waiting in the vault, in chains, watched by the executioner. Feed them, whip them, brand them, release them or execute them. Their condition goes from wounded to dead, and a body left hanging decays over real days until the executioner clears out what is left.
Preview and sandbox
- A live 3D preview with your own skin: drag to turn it, use the wheel to zoom, and choose the cause of death. Fatalities can also be watched in first person.
- Ten sceneries for the preview: platform, flat world, Nether, The End, shallow water, open sea, cave, dungeon corridor, cliff and forest.
- The sandbox is a private, playable world inside the settings. Fight there and try every effect and fatality by hand. Nothing in it is sent to the server and nobody else sees it.
Sound
A catalogue of death sounds with a play button for each one. Sounds you put in the mod's sounds folder appear in the same list.
How to use it
- Install Fabric Loader, Fabric API and this mod. Mod Menu is optional.
- Join a world, a server or a realm. The settings only open from inside the game, because what they preview is made of things the game loads there.
- Open the settings from Mod Menu or with the key you set for them.
The settings are in English and Spanish.
