About this project

What does FFWaterFalls add?

FFWaterFalls

Liquid source blocks fall under gravity, one block at a time, just like sand or gravel. Water, lava and modded fluids all get in on the fun, and you can watch every step of the fall.

Water during and after falling

How it works

  • Water, lava and modded liquid sources fall when nothing holds them up.
  • Lava falls more slowly than water.
  • Falling water can pass through fences and other waterloggable blocks, waterlogging them on the way down.
  • Water and lava still react mid-fall, like lava landing on water.
  • Oceans, lakes and other natural liquids stay put until something disturbs them, like breaking a block beside them.
  • Built-in limits keep big collapses from turning into lag.

Configuration

You can adjust:

  • How fast each liquid falls
  • Whether liquids pass through waterloggable blocks, and whether a source landing on the same liquid disappears
  • How far flowing liquid can spread downward
  • Performance limits for big collapses
  • A compatibility switch for other fluid mods

Mod compatibility

FFWaterFalls doesn't have special compatibility with specific mods, but modded fluids fall too and each one can be tuned in the config. If another fluid mod misbehaves, try the compatibility switch in the config.

Version differences

  • NeoForge: fluid reactions added by other mods also happen mid-fall. On Fabric and Forge, only vanilla reactions (like lava and water) happen mid-fall.

For datapack makers

FFWaterFalls doesn't use datapacks. Everything is adjusted through the config.

For mod developers

FFWaterFalls doesn't have a modding API.

What's with the FF prefix?

It stands for Fyxe's Features! It's a clean way to easily find all of my mods when changing configs or creating packs. Mods that are a part of the "FF" system are usually smaller and unintrusive.
