Bloom is a vanilla-styled expansion upon many facets of the Overworld - from its flora to its biomes to even farming and caves. As such, Bloom features a plethora of new Biomes, flowers, blocks & more as detailed below.

New Biomes

Golden Forest

  • made up of new Golden Birch trees
  • temperate biome that is placed between Forests and Taigas
  • the ground flora features a plethora of shrubs, tulips, Goldenrods & more

Golden Fields

  • sparse variant of the Golden Forest which borders on nearby plains

Golden River

  • variant of Rivers which match the colors of Golden Forests

Fen

  • swamp-like biome placed near Taigas
  • consists of Birch & Spruce trees, alongside Reeds, Wildflowers & more

Lavender Fields

  • rare plains variant which is typically placed in climates similar to Flower Forests
  • features a substantial amount of Lavender, small patches of Alliums and sparse Oak and new Jacaranda trees

Windswept Jungle

  • variant of Jungles that is placed in windswept terrain
  • features a large amount of Rose Bushes, alongside Jacaranda trees

Sparse Windswept Jungle

  • sparse variant of Windswept Jungles

Pine Taiga

  • Taiga variant which has new Pine trees mixed in with Spruce trees
  • generates adjacent to the newly-overhauled Old Growth Pine Taiga

Snowy Pine Taiga

  • snowy variant of the Pine Taiga
  • replaces Taigas in low-temperature regions

Tropical River

  • muddy, Jungle variant of Rivers

Tropical Beach

  • tropical-water-color variant of Beaches

Warm Beach

  • Desert variant of Rivers featuring coarse dirt & dry grass

Arid Shore

  • coarse dirt variant of Stony Shores which replaces them in Deserts / Badlands

Lukewarm River

  • savanna-water-color variant of Rivers

  • Taiga variant of Rivers featuring a more fitting water colour and more Gravel

Cold Beach

Underground Variation

Biome Depth

  • Andesite is the base stone below cold-temperate regions such as Taigas
  • Diorite is the base stone for high-y-level tropical regions (such as Windswept Jungles)
  • Granite is the base stone for arid regions such as Savannas
  • Dolerite is the base stone for freezing regions (wherever it can snow)
  • Sandstone extends deeper in Deserts
  • Red Sandstone extends deeper in Badlands

Dolerite

  • the new base stone type in freezing (snowy) regions
  • has Polished, Brick and Tile variants

Ore Variants

  • ore variants have been added for Andesite, Diorite, Granite, Tuff, Sandstone, Red Sandstone & Dolerite
  • ore variants are for each Overworld ore, with modded support for Legacies and Legends' Sapphire

Farming

Cotton

  • seeds are found in Jungle Temples, Dungeons & Woodland Mansions
  • drops Cotton & Cotton Seeds when fully grown
  • Cotton can be crafted into Yarn
  • Yarn can be used to make Sleeping Bags, which allow you to sleep without setting your spawn
  • Yarn can be used to make Rugs, which are like a Carpet version of Glazed Terracotta wherein each Rug color has its own unique pattern
  • Yarn can be crafted into String or sold to Shepherds

QOL

  • hoes can be right-clicked on fully-grown crops to instantly harvest and replant them

Misc Tweaks

Water & Foliage Colors

  • Taigas and related biomes now use unique water colors
  • Savannas and related biomes now use unique water colors, alongside tweaked foliage colors
  • Deserts and related biomes now use unique water colors
  • Jungles and related biomes now use unique water colors
  • freezing biomes now have a darker water color

Extra Biome Tweaks

  • Coarse Dirt Patches (Savannas, Golden Forest)
  • Underwater Mud (Swamps, Jungles)
  • Water-level Mud (Swamps)

Music

  • Lock and Key plays in Golden Forests and Taigas

Config

Everything is configurable. Much of Bloom is configured by a regular json / in-game config, however to modify whether or where certain features (such as new flowers) can spawn, you must create a datapack to edit the biome tags listed here.
