Blocks²
Place blocks, inside blocks! Eg: Four trapdoors arranged inside one block, with a carpet, and a lantern!
Quick answer
Which Blocks² release should I use?
Blocks² 1.0.0+beta targets 26.2 with Fabric. Installation on the client is optional. Installation on the dedicated server is optional. All 1 required mods have matching files.
Where it goes
Is Blocks² required on the client, server, or both?
Installation on the client is optional. Installation on the dedicated server is optional.
The source marks this as usable on both the client and server.
What else does Blocks² 1.0.0+beta need?
1.0.0+beta. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Fabric API first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup.
We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does Blocks² add?

Blocks²
aka - Blocks Squared
Combine multiple blocks into a single position. Stack a lever inside a fence, a candle on a trapdoor, or two trapdoors and a sign into one block — each block should work exactly as it normally does.
The main idea was to remove the "one block per block" rule, as weird as that sounds.
General Info
Sneak + right-click while placing a block to combine it with whatever's already at that position. The resulting block will retain all of it's normal block-state properties, each block inside the stack will show it's own independent breaking animation.
Controls
- There is a single keybind which is unbound by default, this keybind disables the block stacking when toggled to allow for normal vanilla building.
Extra Info
- Up to 8 blocks can share a single position - this is changeable in the config.
- A block that would completely fill the block (occluding everything else) can't be added, minus for most transparent blocks (eg: leaves, glass)
- Signs support standing and wall placement, full text editing, but not dye/glow ink; hanging signs aren't supported yet as well.
- Redstone comparators, pistons, and observers don't yet interact with combined blocks — that's on the roadmap.
- The mod allows you to stack any block entity, although some may not be supported yet and will be visually there only, this even works with Create stuff, visually only ofc.
- So-far the mod seems to work with any other mod, and yes it works with Shaders.
