About this project
What does MCG's Questborne add?

Questborne is an RPG quest mod for Minecraft that spawns campsite structures throughout your world, each populated by specialist NPCs who offer quests, track your reputation, and reward you with Quest Points.
Features
- 5 Specialist NPC Types
- Hunter: Combat specialist. Kill quests targeting hostile mobs and bosses.
- Gatherer: Resource expert. Collect ores, crops, and rare materials.
- Crafter: Artisan. Craft specific items and deliver finished goods.
- Explorer: Cartographer. Visit structures, biomes, and dimensions.
- Merchant: Trader. Deliver goods, travel distances, and complete trade routes.
Each NPC has 6 unique skins (3 male, 3 female), gendered name pools, day/night sleep cycles, and can be hired and relocated to your base after reaching max reputation with them.

250 Handcrafted Quests
50 quests per NPC type, spanning 5 difficulty tiers. Quests use randomized count ranges so the same quest plays differently each day. Objectives include:
Kill mobs, breed animals, tame pets
Gather items, mine resources, craft gear
Visit structures, explore dimensions, travel distances
Reach specific heights, deliver items between NPCs
Up to 5 active quests at a time. New quests rotate daily at dawn.
Quest Points Economy
Every quest awards Quest Points (QP), spend them at any NPC's shop on:
4 daily rotating items themed to the NPC type, refreshed at dawn
Bronze Crate: Common materials and consumables
Silver Crate: Uncommon gear and rare resources
Gold Crate: Rare items, diamonds, and high-value loot
Each NPC type stocks unique items. Hunters sell combat gear and enchanted books. Gatherers sell rare ores and materials. Legend-tier players get a 25% shop discount.

NPC Hiring
At Champion reputation (600+), you can hire NPCs and relocate them to your base. Hired NPCs become an item in your inventory showing their unique face. Place them near a workstation and bed, and configure their wander radius and appearance. They keep their name, gender, and your full reputation history.

Addon Ecosystem
Questborne is designed to be extended. Official addons add new quests, NPC types, crate loot, and shop items for popular mods
All quests are JSON-based, datapack authors can add their own quests without writing any code. Make sure to take a look at the config file to tweak anything you might want! By default, NPC Camps spawn around 32 chunks apart, and can be found with the locate command.
