About this project

What does Cobblemon ExpLock Reborn add?

Updated version of https://modrinth.com/mod/cobblemon-explock for Cobblemon 1.8.x

Cobblemon ExpLock

A server-side mod to lock a Pokémon's exp gain. It doesn't need to be installed on the client, but it also works in singleplayer.

Installation

Put the .jar file in the "mods" folder. Requires Cobblemon 1.8+, Fabric API and Fabric Loader 0.17.2+.

Commands

/explock [level]

  • /explock <slot> fully locks the Pokémon's exp gain. Running it again on a locked Pokémon (full lock or level cap) removes the lock.
  • /explock <slot> <level> caps the Pokémon at that level. It keeps gaining exp normally until it reaches the cap, then stops exactly there.

Example: lock the exp gain of the Pokémon in your first party slot: /explock 1

Example 2: cap the Pokémon in your first party slot at level 50: /explock 1 50

/explockstatus

Shows whether the Pokémon in that slot is unlocked, fully locked, or capped at a level.

The lock blocks exp from every source: battles, Exp. Candies, Rare Candies, commands and other mods. Candies can't be used on a locked Pokémon (or one already at its cap), so they won't be wasted.

Permissions

By default the commands require operator permission (level 2).

This mod supports LuckPerms. The permissions are explock.toggle and explock.status.

What's new in 2.0

  • Updated for Cobblemon 1.8.x
  • Level caps can no longer be overshot: a big exp gain now stops exactly at the cap level
  • Exp from every source is now blocked, not just battle exp
  • Locks are now reliably saved
  • /explock <slot> now removes a level cap too, instead of switching it to a full lock
  • Existing locks from older versions keep working
