Enhanced Vanilla Quests

Enhanced Vanilla Quests (Enhanced VQ) is a fully integrated quest system designed to enhance Minecraft's natural progression without replacing the vanilla experience.

Begin your adventure with a Quest Book that guides you from your very first day through the game's major milestones and all the way to the End and beyond. Explore the world, gather valuable resources, build impressive structures, master redstone and technical mechanics, discover brewing and enchantments, and take on Minecraft's greatest challenges through a complete progression system built around the way you already play.

Unlike many quest mods, Enhanced VQ doesn't try to speed up progression or change how Minecraft is meant to be played. Instead, it gives your adventure structure, direction, and meaningful rewards while preserving the vanilla experience.

What's New in Enhanced VQ 0.9.4

The Warrior Update

Enhanced VQ 0.9.4 adds a new Warrior quest category, a Bestiary, and a new Progress screen to keep track of your overall adventure.

Warrior

The new Warrior category adds 44 creature quest lines.

Hunt creatures, complete defeat objectives, earn rewards, and collect trophies as you progress.

There is also a dedicated Raid progression with five levels.

All creature and raid progress is tracked automatically as you play, so there is nothing extra you need to do.

Bestiary

The new Bestiary keeps track of the creatures you discover throughout your world.

It currently contains 44 creatures, with entries hidden until you encounter them.

Once discovered, you can find information such as descriptions, trivia, tips, first appearances, and dropped items.

Some creatures also have their own illustrated pages.

Progress

The new Progress screen gives you an overview of your entire quest progression.

You can now see your completion percentage across all major categories:

Main · Explorer · Miner · Builder · Technical · Wizard · Warrior · Advancements

This makes it easier to see how much of the mod you've completed without opening every category separately.

Quest Book Improvements

The Quest Book has also received performance improvements, particularly for larger categories such as Warrior and Bestiary.

A Complete Progression System

Enhanced VQ is built around multiple quest categories, each covering a different part of Minecraft's progression.

Whether you enjoy exploring the world, mining for resources, building, mastering technical mechanics, or developing your magical abilities, there is a path for you to follow.

You can progress naturally through each category, accept quests, pin objectives for later, track your progress, and return to the Quest Book to claim your rewards.

Main Quests

The Main Quests form the core progression path of Enhanced VQ.

This quest line guides you from your first steps in a new world through Minecraft's most important milestones, helping you progress naturally toward the End and the completion of the game's main journey.

The adventure doesn't end there. Main Quests continue beyond the End, guiding you into the late game and giving you new goals to pursue after completing Minecraft's traditional progression.

Explorer

The Explorer category focuses on discovering the world and everything it has to offer.

Explore new locations, discover interesting places, and experience the many possibilities Minecraft's world has to offer while progressing through quests designed around exploration and discovery.

Miner

The Miner category focuses on gathering resources and mastering Minecraft's mining progression.

Dig deeper, collect valuable materials, and work your way through increasingly important resources as you advance through the game.

The Builder category is dedicated to creativity and construction.

Take on building challenges, develop your creativity, and create impressive structures as part of your quest progression.

Technical

The Technical category focuses on Minecraft's technical mechanics and redstone progression.

Learn, experiment, and master redstone systems and technical gameplay while completing quests designed around one of Minecraft's deepest mechanics.

Wizard

The Wizard category explores Minecraft's magical progression through brewing and enchanting.

This category currently features 64 fully integrated quests, including:

• 16 Brewing quests
• 41 Enchantment quests
• 5 Enchanted Gear milestone quests

Progress from brewing your first potions to mastering powerful enchantments and creating fully enchanted equipment.

Quest rewards scale naturally with progression, ranging from basic materials and enchanting resources to powerful enchanted gear.

All Wizard quests are detected automatically through normal gameplay.

Vanilla Advancements as Quests

Minecraft's built-in Advancements are fully integrated into the Enhanced VQ Quest Book.

Every vanilla advancement is mirrored as a quest, bringing Minecraft's original progression system into the same unified experience.

Complete advancements, track your progress, and claim quest rewards without leaving the Quest Book.

Completed Quests

Completed quests are organized separately, with unclaimed rewards displayed first so you never lose track of what still needs to be collected!

Quest Completion Notifications

Completing a quest is meant to feel rewarding.

Enhanced VQ includes an on-screen Quest Completed notification that appears automatically when you finish a quest.

The notification features smooth animations and automatically queues multiple completed quests when several are finished at once.
