In The Gloom
Bad things happen in the gloom. Beware!
Quick answer
Which In The Gloom release should I use?
In The Gloom 1.4.2 targets 1.21.1 with Fabric. Installation on the client is optional. Installation on the dedicated server is optional. 1 required mod needs a matching file.
Where it goes
Is In The Gloom required on the client, server, or both?
Installation on the client is optional. Installation on the dedicated server is optional.
The source marks this as usable on both the client and server.
What else does In The Gloom 1.4.2 need?
1.4.2. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Fabric API, BTWR: Shared Library first, but 1 required mod has no matching file for this setup. Do not mix loader builds to force a match.
We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does In The Gloom add?
This mod changes Minecraft so that exploring dark places is severely limited without having proper light source. Naturally dark places like caves will be instantly affected and at night time - only the nights close to full moon are lit well enough to not affect the player.
In the gloom the player's abilities are limited and will eventually stack up to a very unpleasant experience where the player is either forced to light up the area or face the consequences of staying in the dark for too long.
The mod combines best with True Darkness Refabricated and especially its BTW Styled Darkness configuration.
Acknowledgment: This mod ports functionality from the Better Than Wolves Mod, which was created by FlowerChild and is currently maintained by the CE Team. Link to the original mod -> here
