About this project
What does Tacz: Presence add?
TaCZ: Presence
This mod is all about improving first-person immersion when using the Timeless and Classics Zero mod.
I highly recommend pairing this mod with Immersive Ballistics. They work perfectly together to bring the ultimate immersive experience to TACZ.
Why did I create this mod?
One day I was playing with a group of friends on a zombie server and a small battle royale. As a player using the TACZ mod, it just didn’t feel exciting enough. I couldn’t really tell where I was being attacked from or even feel like I was actually getting shot at. Something still felt off. So, I decided to do something about it.
What does this mod add?
Combat & Immersion
- Suppression System: If bullets fly past you or hit nearby, your screen will blur and shake, accompanied by dark edge overlays to simulate combat stress. Fully configurable.
- Scope Glare: Inspired by games like CoD and Fortnite. You will see a glint when someone aims at you with a long-range optic. In version 1.4, this is now manually configurable for addon compatibility.
- Fire Blur: Adds a subtle, fast blur effect on the edges of the screen when firing, simulating the intensity of recoil.
- Muzzle Smoke: Features two types of smoke effects when shooting. This includes a sutil muzzle puff and an experimental "dense smoke" mode around the weapon.
Visual Feedback & Overlays
- Damage Indicators: Clear visual cues showing the direction of incoming fire. Now includes two new styles and improved compatibility with Shoulder Surfing.
- Impact Overlay: Depending on the surface hit (dirt, sand, concrete) and your distance to the impact, your screen will be splattered with debris particles.
- Focus Overlay: When aiming down sights (ADS), the edges of your screen darken to help you concentrate on your target.
- Damage Overlay: A visual effect that intensifies based on damage taken. Works great with Enhanced Visuals.
- Low Health (Experimental): When health is critical, the screen turns red and applies a "ghosting" effect that fades as you heal.
Audio & HUD
- (HUD) Ammo Alerts: On-screen notifications when you are low on ammo, empty, or need to reload.
- HUD Redesign: A complete redesign of the original TACZ HUD for a more modern, tactical look.
- Impact Sounds: Specific sound effects that trigger when you take damage, varying by the intensity of the hit.
Technical Improvements
- Curios API Integration: Optimized compatibility for "Curios For Ammo Box".
- Texture Optimization: Improved and optimized textures for overlays and sniper glare for better performance.
Feel free to use this mod in your modpacks ;)
