Boring Details
  • Upon loading a chunk for the first time, torches get replaced by flimsy torches (1% chance for a torch to not change)
  • Regular torches can be crafted using Flimsy Torch and Magma Cream
  • Soul torches can be crafted using Soul Sand/Soil and Torch (Regular)
  • Candles, Campfires and Waxed Torches that last longer planned for a future version ;<;
Lantern Update - March 28th, 2026 Flimsy Lanterns have been added:
  • The lanterns can be crafted with eight iron nuggets and start out empty
  • Right-click a lantern with a Flimsy Torch to light it
  • Inserted torch will last 50% longer (can be changed in configs)
Villager Update - October 19th, 2025 Villager torch behavior's been added, allowing villagers to replace torches as they burn out:
  • Villagers will occasionally look for nearby torches to replace
  • Burnt Out torches are prioritized first, followed by Smoldering ones
  • Through the config, you can adjust the frequency and which grades of torches get replaced
Config Update - October 3rd, 2025 Config's been added, allowing you to tweak a few things:
  • Individual torch burn duration for all states
  • Lucky torch spawn chance
  • Add other mods' custom torches, so they get replaced with flimsy torches too
